Why don't we take a poll in these country's and see if the people being raped, and murdered, and tortured would appreciate intervention from outsiders?
It doesn't matter if people like America or not. Morals and principles should controll our decisions, not our popularity.

EXACTLY. I don't get why we have to base our decisions on whether or not we are LIKED. No, no way. Doing that would make a HORRIBLE president.

I think the difference between the Iraq situation and the African situation is that we aren't talking about deposing any leaders. What should be done is to send peacekeeping forces in to stabilize the area--not occupy it, not change it, but just try and make peace. Perhaps that is an idealistic goal, but we've already tried doing nothing. . . .
Iraq was a dictatorship. Africa, while each country does have leaders, is more like a broiling semi-anarchy that needs to stabilize in order to get out of the developing world.

Doesn't it seem a habit for peole too start killing eachother in places where there is enough room for 100X more people then there already are?
Its horrible whats happended there of course, but it has happened before and it will happen again. You can't stop it, you can't judge it and you sure a H*ll can not point too people about it... well, perhaps in some cases.

In Iraq, Saddam ruled by fear, and the vast majority of his troops and governent folded when we went in. In the Sudan, these are militia backed by the government who (sadly) believe in what they are doing. They will fight to the death against any "peacekeepers" sent in. This would force the "peacekeepers" to slaughter the militia AND depose the government. Not very "peaceful", eh?

Killings put Darfur aid at risk
The World Food Programme has condemned the killing of two of its drivers taking aid to Sudan's Darfur region.
Such attacks make it difficult to deliver enough food to the area before the rainy season, said WFP Sudan head.
Across the border in Chad, the UN refugee agency has pulled out of five camps after its workers were targeted in violence which left three dead.
More than 2m people have fled their homes in Darfur - some to Chad - during two years of conflict and violence.
At least 180,000 people have already died from hunger and disease, in addition to those killed in the fighting between pro-government Arab militias and Darfur's rebel groups.
Selling aid
The WFP said its drivers were killed in separate incidents by "bandits" on the road between Ed-Daen and Nyala in south Darfur.
"Such attacks only make drivers extremely reluctant to transport food aid in Darfur and are making it very difficult to deliver enough food before the rains," said WFP's Sudan director, Ramiro Lopes da Silva.
In Chad, refugees have staged violent protests after the UNHCR tried to clamp down on them selling aid supplies in local markets and verify refugee numbers.
At least one policeman and two refugees were killed in the clashes, after aid workers were beaten with sticks and stones.
The UNHCR has now pulled out of four of the 12 camps it runs in eastern Chad, for the 200,000 people who have gone there from Darfur.
