You can't blame this on the Democratic Party. Regardless of whether the perpetrators were Democrats or not, they were not acting in a manner representative of the party at large. I mean, take the converse here. When the Watergate scandal occured, that was just Richard Nixon and his lackeys. RM, you know his actions don't reflect the spirit of the Republican Party. This is the same kind of thing. There will always be bad apples on both sides.

Youre exactly right. I dont believe that the Democrats can do no wrong. And I hate John Kerry. But I fight for him, because I hate the alternative. Now this thread went on alot longer than it had to.

The title of the thread. Yes. The people who did this were wrong. That's it. They acted on their own. No one knows for who they vote. No one knows why they did this. This is all I have to say about this: Stop making connections. Neither real Dems nor real Reps have anything to do with this.

Yes, I know, and I said that I saw that in the statements about it being far-left Democrats.

Baloney. I was just stating something that I had heard about, but you call opposing ALL OF THESE THINGS "whining?" You have to change your definition of whining.

Wrong. I'm sure with Exalya's case Democrats have stuff to do with it, and the Florida case does--but I'm also sure that these Democrats don't represent mainstream Democrats and are far left--but ARE Democrats.
Exalya wrote: | As I've tried to say; it doesn't matter what party did it. It more than likely was not the *official* party that had these people commit the crime. It was, more likely, some renegade lefty's, and yeah, maybe it was some way-off Repubs looking to pick a fight. Any way you cut it, it wasn't the act of the actual party itself. It was probably a group of people not even involved with their party. You can condemn what was done without condemning a whole party, but rather the people who did it. I still would be inclined to say that the people who did it were either Democrats or something farther left than that. One; I could be wrong, and two; they wouldn't represent all Dems. (Even if their sentiments might be the same, their radical actions are, again, probably not prevolent with the entire party)
I'm sure one could find vandalism among both parties. Granted, I haven't seen any Republicans having done similar acts. Either it's not talked about, I've ignored it, or it doesn't exist. There probably are pockets of it. Around where I live, though, it is most certainly the Republicans that are targetted in these type of crimes. In a predominantly Republican area, it might be the opposite. I sincerely would not know. |
I agree.

that's ridiculous, don't you think you generalize on this? like every democrat will knock a sandcastle down, come on.. we're all human, we all make mistakes, and so do republicans.

I just thought that it was an interesting opinion, and thought good of it, until I got other views which helped me to see that it is really the far-left wacked out Democrat Bush-haters who do this stuff.

Yeah. Plus, if anything it's biased towards his side.
But also,

Many are Democrats, and in the Florida case many may be part of a Union. Now, to be fair, I've heard about several cases of Republicans (perhaps) going far as to vandalize Kerry headquarters, and it's ALL bad.

I never said that they were terrorists. It was a quote.
And they are NOT terrorists--nor are these perhaps Republicans.

I was getting at how stupid it would be generalize about something like this, when you don't even know who did it,

I don't think you're taking me seriously right now, because you put me with the other 'democrats' or whatever you want to call them. I have my opinion and I don't like to being put in a cabinet as we say in Holland. It's just petty-mindedness.
I don't intend to change your opinion. I just want you to realise you might be offending people with what you're saying because you don't take them seriously.

Forgive me, and I don't wish to offend you, but that's baloney.
A) I AM taking you serious, and that WAS a serious point. I was, in that "far left wached out Democrat Bush-haters" comment talking about those that DID MUCH of those acts.
You have your opinion and that's fine. I respect that. But I NEVER put you into that category.
Now, to be fair there have been a few reports of Vandalism of Kerry Headquarters as well--and those may very well be wached out IDIOT Republicans--although, as others have stated with the Democrat deal, it may just be different people. However, neither parties coordinated these, though.

RM, I dont care if you bring up that Kerry headquarters has been vandalized too. I couldnt care less if you try to justify your point by showing it happens to the other side. So let me sum it up right now:
*beep* HAPPENS. Live with it. Dont point fingers, just deal with it. The more you attract attention to it, the more you encourage it.

So then we should stop the war on terror?
And actually, I have heard no actual proof of the Kerry headquarters vandalism.

We pointed the finger of blame to Iraq, and look where that got us...
YOU WANT PROOF! Heres proof from my local paper here in K-Falls:
Herald and News wrote: | Thieves steal over 300 kerry signs
Almost every John Kerry lawn sign in Klamath Falls was stolen Thursday night, according to Ross Carroll, chairman of the Klamath County Democratic Central Committee.
A Klamath County 911 Emergency Agency spokesman said several reports of the thefts, especially in the Pacific Terrace area, were recieved, but law enforcement officers have no suspects." |
Now if it happens in a town of like 4000 people, imagine where else it would happen.

Alright, proof. Thank you. Some perhaps far-right Republicans are at fault here, then.

I don't see how you won. There really was no "point" to the debate.
I just see that you proved your point that Republicans have done stuff, after I got you going. I don't see that you won, though. But your proof did help you in changing a mind a bit
