I agree completely. I love the SE but that change was NOT needed.

Some of these changes must be a bit annoying for the original actors. I mean, Shaw doesn't have any massive impact on the film (other than representing Vader's character) but as an actor, very little impact, but regardless, he probably said to his grandkids or whoever, "Look, when I was a bit younger, I was in Star Wars!" and his kids would've been like "Woah! Wow!".
He'd sit down with his grandkids (or whoever) ready to point out his 5 seconds of fame in one of the greatest films ever made, only to discover, what the heck! They'd replaced him with some other guy!
You can imagine the disappointment lol.
You get what I mean lol.

What I'm about to say should really be done in another topic (which I think I will soon) but some of your comments raises questions. Should classic movies be tampered with? Should they be left alone? Or should it be done, depending on merit?
There have been occasions where digitally remastering or changing a scene can be of benefit (although I think they are the exception, not the rule). Other times, I hate it such as when a CGI E.T. scene was added in E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.
No-one tampers with old paintings or sculptures. As films like the Original Trilogy could, by a stretch of the imagination, be referred to as works of art, should we leave them alone and judge them by the standards of the era? What do you think, folks?

I dont see why people are so offended that they have changed minor things in the trilogy. The changes made havent exactly changed the storyline in any shape or form. Just a few adjustments which mean nothing.

To a certain extent, Captain Skyline, I agree with you. But I do think Mr. Lucas should have released the Original Versions as well as the SE's. One benefit to that would be that people could have compared the original's to the SE's and seen if the SE's really were better.

I agree. The Special Extended Edition was enough.

Yeah they should of just included the originals in there too, it wouldnt have taken too much time up.

Some of those changes look totally rubbish. Jabba looked soooo much better in the original. One or two of the changes are for the better, but the majority aren't. I think that's annoying about Vader being swapped at the end. It doesn't seem right. Not sure when I'll get the box set, don't have spare money at the moment, but might have in a few weeks.

I too am disgusted with the change of Anakin at the end.
Quote: | They got rid of Sebastian Shaw and replaced him with Hayden Christensen in the scene with the ghosts in ROTJ. |

Haven't been able to watch any of the movies yet, with homework, just the documentaries, etc.

I got it today, but I was working after school so don't have time to watch it. I think I'll watch a few minutes now, and then go to bed. We don't have school tomorrow so I'll probably watch them all, although I'm working for a few hours.
