I'd have to echo both GhostofaMemory and Kyle Reese. I end up saying things I regret to my parents when I'm angry, but I haven't really been punished by anything more than being sent up to my room or being kicked offline. I'm not a really rebellious child, and I think religion has played a lot in my morals and my decisions on what to do and what not to do, so that'd be why my parents haven't had to resort to anything more drastic, I think.

I was brought up to let people witness the way I live and ask questions about God. So that has a part of my discipline. I seem to be forceful and really not. I did put my words in wrong alot of times but I learned from what my dad said a month ago. He said just let people see how you live then they will ask questions. I only got into trouble once that is when what I told you earlier. So I am not perfect by all means.

Yes, This post is not attended for religion purposes but it also can be for growing up reasons and shouldn't fight over it. And get offended. I am surely this is not what my son has attended when he started this post to get an uproar. But I think we can respect each other.

I was punished quite a bit when I was a kid... what I know now was that I was just really frustrated and I'd take it out on everything. I've never really been one for swearing, but I've been grounded (once it was on/off for a year... I never went out much after I reached 10), sent to my room, made to lay on the floor (when you're about 13 and your breasts are just developing 2 hours face down on a floor hurts!), smacked, banned from the computer, banned from doing homework (that one was weird... I was given so many chores to do that I wouldn't have time to do my homework... not what you want when your GCSEs are coming up!). I can't remember any of the others, only that most of the time they were over stupid things like not washing the dishes fast enough, going to the library, staying behind too late after school (I did my homework at school in the end). I deserved them sometimes, but I'm the only person I know who's ever been given extra chores for doing homework!

I tried to seriously harm my sister! She was being the biggest bitch so I wasn't gonna take it no more and punched her, kicked her into the wall.. and other things.

I was on acedemic proobation my freshman year in high school because I was in IB and had 2 Ds... haha. but as for stuff like that at home, no. Iguess my parents don't believe in grounding us. a good yelling at will usually do me over, but I'm not that bad of a kid anyway, neither are my brothers. meh.

well, i've had my mouth washed out with soap PLENTY of times. and that was b/c i said a dirty word. only, we never had to just put it on our mouths, we had to take a bite and chew, then spit it out, and when we didn't have a bar of soap handy, my dad would use the liquid hand soap. i'm gagging just remembering it. to this day i cannot wash my face with suave soap b/c the smell makes me wanna gag.

I don't remember a time that I was grounded or punished in anyway. My parents were strict. But I did my best at everything, and they knew that my best was the best I could do so they didn't need to punish me.

Me neither. I do it all the time. Not in a rude way, but still.

I guess your parents did not care what you did? Parents who lay down rules and discipline their kids when they do wrong means the parent obviously loves their child. Parents who don't give a rip and their kids get by with everything shows that they could care less. Don't get what I am saying wrong cause I am not trying to sound harsh. Or not saying your parents dont care cause I dont know you or your parents. Just observing here.

I don't expect Allen to talk back to me. That is just rude and not appropritate. He has to learn from his mistakes. And not to misbehave. He might have autism but does not give him the right to back talk me.

He is a good boy and he is bright and smart .

Indeed. I think it's good to 'talk back' as long as a valid point are to be made. Kids are not always wrong. It lets children develop important skills for life. What would you rather your children do; Become a lawyer who is not afraid to express their opinions or become a supermaket stock person who does not question others regardless?
