I agree with kmma, without first hand knowledge you can not make an accurate opinion, a few weeks ago I was one of a team of 20 to try to liberate a prison camp near the border, It was terrifying, the sounds and the smells and the sanitary conditions were dreadful! That is the first time i have seen who I killed, seen into their eyes. I mean i've killed people before. But not like that. Not within 2 feet of the person I killed... I murdered. If you want to know what its like to kill someone, imagine. You are holding a 9mm pistol at the head of a team of 5 men terrified out of their wits and a man comes around the corner aiming a sub-machine gun at you and your team. Then imagine you are in a tiny hallway only room for one person across. With blood spatered on the walls. Then imagine rasing your gun and firing, once, but once is enough. The echos of that shot will haunt my dreams forever. Then hearing the Iraqi man's screams of pain as you step over him and each of your men in turn step over him. Then ordering the last man in your team to "Put him out of his misery". Yup thats what I said the pistol fire could be heard from the opposite side of the hallway. Now imagine seeing row after row of cages full of... children, mostly boys but some girls too, most of them abused and frightened. Imagine those children running to the back of their cell scared of the people come to save them. That is what I did a few weeks back that is what earnt my promotion. That is why I want to pack my combatant status away, along with my medals. To me it seems that some governments are hypocritical, they jail up murderers, but award millitary soldiers. It seems to me that we too are murderers, and deserve to be locked up.
But thats just me. So don't go making an opinion untill you know all the facts.

I am being sent over in late Sept to clear the way for the Army:P
When I was a kid I just wanted to be in the Navy. I thought it would be fun, but most of the time we are on boarder patrol of something boring, then when war does come, I always lose someone. I lost my best friend (and CO) on my last TOD (tour of duty) in Afganistan, Damn Terrorists, Damn Media. The should be able to show everything thats happening. Not some bullsh*t they call a War, war is losing things. Not seeing other people lose them.

The US will always have enemys because we are the top country and are better. it has nothing to do with leaders its just jealousy.

Yes but America should remember: It will always have enemies, but it won't always have allies, and if the world turns on her, she will be crushed.

2. I would imagine it hard to declare war on terrorisim, i mean that in some respects the American military is a terrorist group, why does no one fight the Americans directly? They are too scared of going against the worlds largest Army (America) and her ally the worlds largest Navy (U.K.) and terrorists are people that instill fear into people.
These are my independant opinions though, I understand that people have different people have different opinions, but as a soldier that is fighting in the war against terror I believe that no wars, no fighting at all is the way to go. | america has the largest navy by 12 ships

Yeah and you have also publicly called Christianity- a False Religion, with the real Bible hidden in the Vatican, Islam- a Barbaric Religion and Jews a Race of Nutcases. So nothing you say can really be considered Valid

The Iraqis may be doing horrible things to their prisoners but what about what the American soldiers were doing? The things that those pictures showed were just plain wrong. I'm not saying its just americans, more than likely some brits are doing it too, but i don't think you should criticise the Iraqis' treatment of prisoners when american soldiers were abusing Iraqi prisoners too.

Isn't it amazing how they receive such different amounts of media coverage? I'm pretty sure that was CCG's point.

ok this is the opinion of me and some of the guys in my shop. The power jumps from country to country. It started with Rome( while not a country this is where the power started they were the first "Super Power), and now the power has come to AMERICA. But the power will not stay. Just as it has moved from Europe so shall it move from America. We give it 100yrs until the fall of the United States.
By the way we are all communications in the United States Air Force. So don't try to bad mouth us. We had the nerve to step up to defend our country. And have the right to say stuff like this.

I don't think that America will "fall" in 100 years. Decline, maybe, but fall? No. Something catastrophic would have to happen for that to be so.

And many worse things happen in college dorm hazings across the civilized world.
It's not that bad, I can't even compare stripping someone to BEHEADING someone, but yet, if you're watching the brainwashing liberal media, you'll defy logic and forget that .

America will not fall any time soon? Why? Because pure Capatalism (which the U.S. is the closest in the world to) will ALWAYS attract the best and the brightest.
Why would a genius inventor release a revolutionary invention in, let's just say, Sweden; where he'll be massively taxed on every one he sells and he'd only make a 30% profit, when he can bring it over to the U.S. and lose a substantially smaller amount to taxes, and make a 75% profit.
Capatalism and complete freedom is something the world hasn't tried before the U.S. and it's something that will garner the power for the U.S. forever, unless we change that.

Well i am sorry to say that nothing in war is fair.
I have probably caused the death of Iraqi civlians, defenatly caused some Afgani deaths then there was Timor. But sometimes these thins can't be helped. I am NOT saying that it is right but it happens on both sides.
