That's so hilarious. I wonder what would happen if Picard was about to say "On Screen" and he has a sudden case of "hershey squirts". He would panic a look around and say "Number One, *clears throat* you have the bridge." Then he quickly jets to the "head." I just think that would be so funny.

There still could be a bit of a problem though. 1 toilet for the entire ship of 1000+? That could be a long line of people waiting to get in during the moring.

Perhaps staff aren't supposed to use the toilets during shifts...which is why we would never see them using one.

No ... we never see them using the bathroom because that would be totally irrelavent to the episode. Anyways, why would the writers want to throw in a part in one of the scenes where a Starfleet Officer uses the bathroom?!?!?!?

Well you never know.. They might want to be sick one time or they might want to wash their hands...You never know who's been using that console...

Starfleet starships are very clean. The air is constantly refreshed and all bacteria are taken out. The air is also air-conditioned at every time of the day (and night). In short, the ship cleans itself. So becoming sick wouldn't happen as often as it does in real life.
But everyone needs to use the bathroom a few times a day whether we live in the present or the future... There deffinetly have to be many bathrooms scattered around the starships but we've never actually seen a toilet have we?

Lol, I imagine Geordi at the end of the shift
Geordi to Riker: I gotta go pee
Riker: Go ahead
20 minutes later
Riker: Geordi are you finished?
Geordi: Just 15 minutes more! I've drank a lot of prune juice today!

actually, they have things now that you can keep in your interior of your garments that you can just go ahead and do your business and not worry a bit with no odour. It's very interesting, so image 300 years in the future what they can develop.
