personally i feel that the NX is too advanced in some ways i know it must have been hard going back in time but they could have made it more realistic no wonder the rating suck!

I don't think it is advanced enough. Look at where we are today in technology and without a doubt we will be far more advanced than NX-01 is in 150 years. It is more advanced than TOS in some ways, but never forget that was the sixties. As far as the ratings go, nothing on UPN orWB is ever that high in the ratings, Enterprise is still one of UPN's top rated shows.

I see no problem with their technology levels ....... if you compare it with modern times and TOS you'll see it fits in very well.

I think it's all good, but what's up with them not having automatic doors?

^Yeah, automatic doors is one place they messed up.

They *are* too advanced, though. They shouldn't have phase weapons-----TOS's "The Cage" established that Captain Pike (immediately before Kirk) was still using laser weapons.

While their chemical torpedoes are fine, its been established that the Romulan War was fought mostly with nukes, so lets hope they pick up a supply at some point.

They should not have encountered any holotechnology at this point, but they have. They should not have encountered the Ferengi at this point, but they have. They should not have encountered replicator technology at this point, but they have. And most of all, the Romulans should not have cloaking technology at this point.

Yes, I know, you can make excuses for each of those if you try hard enough. Its all explainable if you put your mind to it. But the point is, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT. B&B set ENT in the 22nd century in order to tell new stories; why, then, do they keep bringing in 24th century technology? There's plenty of stories to tell without it; some of them would even be more interesting without it.

My point is, if they wanted to use 24th century tech, they should have done another series in the 24th century.......

Well, i don't think it is even though it looks advanced, but you have to realise they aren't going to the ship in a bottle thing like they did with TOS.

Cause it's a real thin line, but that's your choice to make.
The question at hand, help me understand, is this your plan?

Well it is just because TOS was made in the 60's, that is all. I bet that paramount could create a newer looking constitution class to look more advanced than the nx but less advanced than 24th century ships.

No, it's because the constution class came after the founding of the federation.

Not really that advanced because it's not as big as the other ships.

Enterprise is Great, Although some technology is more advanced than TOS, but if you think about it maybe the Romulan War set us back as far as technology like WWIII may have. AS far as another 24th Century Show NO MORE TNG ERA it is getting old maybe a new 25 or 26th century show OR even A Movie era show.
