PostThu Dec 12, 2002 2:12 am    Memorable lines from Deep Space Nine

Here are some of the great lines from Deep Space Nine:

"I love a woman in uniform"
- Quark, "Emissary"

Bashir: For all we know, you might be really sent by the prophets.
O'Brien: I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, Julian!
- "The Storyteller"

"Kiss the girl, get the key. They never taught us that in the Obsidian Order"
- Garak, "Our Man Bashir"

"Did Starfleet penalize you? Or did you actually request such a dismal command?"
- Q, "Q-Less"

Q: You hit me! Picard never hit me.
Sisko: I'm not Picard.
- "Q-Less"

I know there are dozens more!

What are some great lines you enjoy from the show...

Fortune favors the bold:

"There's an old saying - fortune favors the bold" - Sisko

But it's like love or hate, now is that real or fake?
Cause it's a real thin line, but that's your choice to make.
The question at hand, help me understand, is this your plan?
I think I can, can I think, then I think I can.

I like this nice little jab at Damar:

Damar: "What kind of state tolerates the murder of innocent women and children? What kind of people give those orders?"

Kira: "Yeah, Damar, what kind of people give those orders?"

-Damar and Kira,
Tacking into the Wind

"Stormed at with shot and shell, boldely they road and well, into the jaws of death, into the mouth of hell road the six hundred" - Bashier

(the above quotation is O'Brian and Bashier reciting the third verse of the 19th century British poem by Alfred, Lord Tennison entitled "The Charge of the Light Brigade", made after the Crimean War commerertaing the British army's famed calvary unit. The episode it was used in was season 5's "Sacrifice of Angels" where the Defiant hepled re-take Deep Space Nine. O'Brian and Bashier recited the verse just before the battle began.)

I thought Weyoun's line in "A Call to Arms" was pretty good

"Either you remove those mines or we will take this station from you and remove them ourselves"

Not a particularly humourous line (argh how do u spell humourous???) but I thought it was good

^That's the British spelling, I think. The American spelling is "Humorous".

Weyoun had a great line in "Sacrifice of Angels": "Time to start packing!"

Or how about his line in an earlier one (can't recall the name),

"MY, that's toxic!"

Quark: You want something from me, don't you?
Kira: How'd you guess?
Odo: Simple. We've been here more than a minute and we haven't insulted him, threatened him, or arrested him.

Dukat: I find this whole procedure offensive!

Bashier: And I find you offensive. Now hold up your arm or I'll have a security officer do it for you!

It always seems the non starflet characters had the best lines, coincidence?

I liked the whole conversation when Quark was with Jadzia during her jintara.

I enjoyed the conversationwhen Bashir was tending to Quarks wounds after his liaison with Grelka and Worf and Dax walk in and he says "okay don't tell me, in fact I am going to stop asking that when someone walks in".

I liked it in civil defense when Dukat grabbed his red tea and turned to see Garak cowering in the ops console "well that totally makes my visit worthwhile".
