Looks arent everything. It looks more advanced, because in a real word sense, it is. NX-01 is a computer generated model with very high detail. NCC-1701 was a traditional model, and not the best model at that.

Well, technology wise, and our tv's are more HD than the ones in the 1950's.

Because the origonal Enterprise was designed in the mid 1960's and the NX-01 Enterprise was designed in 2000 or 2001.

I think that Enterprise looks more advanced because of better grapics especially since Enterprise is geniously computer generated while the Enterprise from the origional sereis one is a badly done model by todays standerd anyway.

Yeah well i reckon a good explanation is the fact that they went through a dark age in between kirk and archer's timephrase

PostFri Sep 27, 2002 11:59 am    Err... actually, maybe it isn't

Just thinking about the 'redesiged' NCC1701 that you see in the DS9 episode 'Trials & Tibble-ations'. It looked prety spiffy to me (and the nacelles did that new glowy effect just like the ones on the NX01).

How sad am I?

although it would be a tad strange if we saw kirk go back in time, you have to focus less on the graphics and more on the story.

Cut the crap man you know why!!! How about high tech advancements in film making!!! Or perhaps you'd prefer the cardboard sets of old.

well, the basic design is the same. Look at the nacells, or the bottom of the saucer. The only noticable difference is the windows, they are more animated than TOS Enterprise.

I do agree with him, Enterprise could have been better while maintaining "Kirk's Style".
