I think wing commander is an asowm game. I am thinking of starting an RPG of wing commander aboard the TCS Victory.

I've played a bit of Wing Commander 3. I think I prefer TIE Fighter and Starfleet Academy.

No, he was first in the aptly named Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn. However, TIE Fighter marks his first appearance "on screen", in a matter of speaking.
