OK, so I know the real reason for what's coming is the Paramount budget and not wanting to ruin eps by sticking subtitles all over the place. But can anyone come up with a Trek reason for this phenomenon:
The Univeral Trans translates alien languages into english, but when the alien's lips move, they're mouthing English!

We are observers of the Trek universe, but the real characters like Janeway and Picard don't see the aliens lips move as we do, they see them move as in their own language.
