No, thats different though. The Native Americans are still suffering to this day because of what the old settlers did. Most African Americans are not, unless you count the ones that suffered through the civil rights era.

Good point, Andy. Ever see a reserve for the Native Amerricans? I haven't but I've heard storied from people that have been to them. They are bad, some anyways, not all. Like Andy said, the Native Americans are STILL suffering.

Well, I'm opposed to a great deal of reparations overall, but I will concede that if we're going to give any, it should be towards the Native Americans.

Well I too agree that we shouldn't give reparations to anyone. I didn't do anything to any of these races.
My point was that if anyone deserved it FIRST, it would be the Native Americans.

Land and suffering are different things.
You can give back land, which was kinda their birth right as it was their land (although, in their beliefs, it doesn't belong to anyone). I think land should be returned to all natives, be they native americans, aborinies, tribes in the amazon rainforest...
You can't sorta undo what we did to the blacks (unless you've got some "magical whip" that delivers uphoria instead of pain. I think it's called morphine...)
And I am thoroughly weirded out that my quote became a historial moment.
