Its illegal to have a'no otherlanguages' policy, First Amendmant

On government documents it wouldn't be, but in something like this, yes, it is.

Excuse me for going off topic.

"'You're not suspending my kid for fighting, for being disruptive for being disrespectful -- just speaking Spanish?'" said Rubio, detailing what his father asked the school.
Rubio said school officials told his father, "'Yes, that's correct, just speaking Spanish, and I don't want it here.'"
They suspended him simply for speaking Spanish, nothing more. |
Check it again......................no DIRECT quote FROM the officials and their reasons.

It doesn't matter. He was repeating what THEY said.

Because in the article the school officials did not argue that quote. They clearly said it. Not to mention the bottom of the article says...
Quote: | The school district released a statement, saying it acted quickly in the matter and has apologized to Rubio and his parents. |
Why apologize to something they didn't do?
If Rubio was lying, the people who punished him would have came forward and argued this case.

Founder's right. Seems to me like they did what they did, no question about it. That was wrong of them. So wrong.

I'd still like to hear/see a quote directly from them. But I am inclined to believe the kid.

Yeah. Same here.
I'm just saying that I find the article to be one-sided and suspiciously biased in the kid's favor. We don't know that perhaps the school just doesn't want a court battle and that's why they aren't arguing against Rubio.

So they're Guilty until proven Innocent?
I'm not believeing that just because the kid went and said it, I 'd rather hear a statement from the school first.
It's probably not that they dont want a lawsuit on their hands, it's that most schools cant handle a lawsuit.

Always melodramatic. *sigh* How tiresome.
Guilty until proven innocent? Yes. They are guilty the moment they suspended him for speaking another language. Don't even bother denying it, because that IS wrong. There is no law preventing people from speaking another language.
You're not believing the kid? Oh I wonder why...
It doesn't matter if you don't believe the kid, because he was suspended. He can't make that up.
Not to mention, the school would easily win this case if there was another reason they suspended him.
AGAIN, they apologized for it. They know they are in the wrong.
