PostMon Mar 06, 2006 5:42 pm    Roxann Dawson's Birthdate????

There seems to be a problem with the year Mrs. Dawson was born in. 1958 or 1964?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Roxann_Dawson

Does anyone know what her real birthdate is, I am alittle confused as to why it was 1964 for years, then it was suddenly changed to 1958???

Well, does she look 47 or 41? To me she doesn't look all that old, so maybe she's only 41...

Keep in mind it's been more than 10 years since Voyager aired, she could have easily been in her 30s when it started. Time has a way of sneaking up on people

If...she was born in 1958, that would have made her 37 when Voyager started and 44 when it finished and going by her looks, thats hard to believe.

Looks can be decieving. Hallie Berry is turning 40 this year, and she certainly doesn't look it.

Don't matter how old Roxann is, she is still beautiful.

Yeah. She is a very graceful and talented woman. I really couldn't care less if she was born 64 or 58

Yeah, I was very surprised to see that she was only 3 years younger than Kate Mulgrew. I think she just has that naturally young look to her which is good. She looks very good for her age now, as does Kate. I think the only ones that aren't in late 40's or early 50's are Jeri Ryan, Garret Wang and Jennifer Lien.

I was wondering, since recent changes to IMDB show that Roxann Dawson was born in 1958 and not 1964, does that mean B'Elanna Torres was 37 when Voyager started. Or is it similar to Nana Vistor's Kira. Nana Visitor was born in 1957, making her 36 when DS9 started and her character, Kira was only 26 years old at that time.

So she was an older actress playing a younger character, maybe the same thing is going on with Roxann/Torres.

I found this on Memory Alpha, I think it makes sense to me. What do you guys think, when was Torres born??

It feels so very weird to me that most of the former Voyager actors are my parents age (born in '61 and '64). And it's really hard to imagine a cast of a television show aging. I mean, in Voyager they will always be, let's say in their 30s. I've seen some pictures of some of the actors now and it's just so...weird. You know, like Robert Beltran being gray by now.

I totally agree about the "weird"ness.

There's also a part of me that doesn't want to see the actors outside of the show. The characters they created are so real to me that the actors portraying them seem like bad impostors. I'm always torn at whether or not to watch "behind the scenes" shows, interviews and specials. It kind of bursts the bubble of wonder and awe I create in my own mind when I become attached to a show such as Voyager. I think it's better to stick to the fantasy of the show and avoid the "reality" stuff.
