I'm basically not so sure that the ad should still be on, but the others have their right to let the truth be told, no matter how harsh it may be.

And Defiant, Bush was NOT AWOL!! It's been proven against that!

I think that EVERYONE should disregard ads like this from BOTH sides. Even though I here in Texas have not seen a single campaign ad yet.

His medical records, his dental records, notices from his commanding officers, and more.

And YOU give me proof that he was AWOL, because it's JUST NOT TRUE. It has been PROVEN false. There is NO evidence of him going AWOL anyways.

Here's one for you.

http://www.awolbush.com/

They're even giving a reward if you witness Bush Preforming NG service between May 1972 and October 1973 in either Alabama or Texas.

lol, for every propoganda site you post supporting your view, another can be posted negating it. You don't find this a waste of time?
And I am still amused that you fixate on this, and apparently have no qualms about the fact that Clinton dodged the draft.

Now, now, is that so true, because I don't want the Democrats saying that Bush did so as well, which is not true, but I've heard that many times.

Oh, and I find it INTERESTING how during the Clinton campaigns he was saying "Let's not make Military Service/Vietnam an issue." Well, now Kerry's CAMPAIGNING on it, and Clinton made a large part of his convention speech about it.

What say you about that, all?

Really, I was just sick of seeing all Anti-Kerry propaganda in the topic, so I decided to throw some Anti-Bush propaganda.

Always have to even things out.

Could you just tell me the Anti-Kerry propaganda, please? (I'm serious here--I'm curious)

That is so inaccurate. As a citizen of your country, it is your duty to be there when your country needs you. Or are you one of those people who just take? Your country owes you, so you are going to get all you can, and to hell with it if you are needed, because you are free, and no one can make you do anything you choose not to. Talk about selfishness.
Thank God the men in WWI, and WWII era didn't feel that way, eh? "Heil" could very well be part of your everyday vocabulary.

Agreed, Theresa. You just made the point that I wanted to make--again.
And okay, Link, I see what you mean. The ad. The views of the people in his Swift Boat convoy expressing their opinions on that is propaganda...Perhaps it is, I don't think so, but I will give you that I think that perhaps they should take it off the air.

Yes, It's my duty.

But if it comes time to fight A war that NOBODY believes in (like Vietnam), I will not be the moron sitting on the front line who has no idea what he is fighting for.

I understand that I owe my country and I understand War is sometimes neccesary, But it's YOU that does not understand and do not TRY to understand.

Oh, and people Actully believed what they were fighting for in WWI AND II. My Great-grandfather, god bless his soul, was IN WWII. He SAW the bloodshed and killing, He SAW his comrades killed. He Believed, as did every other person, that what he was doing was RIGHT.

That no one beleives in? Perhaps you ought to study your history a bit better. It wasn't a popular war, but it was understood what was going on, jeez.

Elaborate. Are you saying that in general, or pointing to a specific issue? I'd be delighted to know.

And yay for you. My grandfathers, and several great uncles were in WWII. Some didn't come home.

BTW, tell those Vietnemese that their lives weren't worth anything, just because they war was unpopular in the US,

Maybe you should study up some more on these things.

Why was Vietnam fought?

BTW: Most draft dodgers had philosophical objections to the Vietnam War, which many at the time saw as an unjust war. About 100,000 draft dodgers fled abroad during the war. Another large group hid within the United States.

Also, How were the soldiers Precieved once they returned home from the war. Not with open arms.

Theresa wrote:

Try living in fear that the draft will come back. Try knowing that once it does you will be one of the first called in. You will never understand that fear because you do not have to worry about it.

And side note. being in College doesn't stop them from drafting you anymore.

Theresa wrote:

Never mock me or my Family. My great grandparents and Grandparent were FORCED out of Italy because of that war. Many of my Grandparents family were slaughtered.

I don't know much about Vietnam, so I won't comment too much, but Theresa was NOT mocking you, Link.

I never mocked your family, Link... Good Lord. "yay for you"? I clarified by mentioning my family that had served, which would lead most people to beleive that their family isn't the only one that fought, and that others have a point of reference, too. But if you choose to take it as a personal attack on your family, well, guess there's nothing I can do about that.

And the Vietnamese asked for help. I posted World Book Encyclopedia references before, as they are for the most part totally unbiased. I don't have to repost the same information over and over when a discussion is revived in another topic, you can do some research on your own, you know.

And you can be a conscientious objector, you don't have to dodge the draft.

Well, since you seem unable to pick up a dictionary to look up what something might mean:

mud-slinging, mudslinging
noun {U}

when you say insulting or unfair things about someone, especially to try to damage their reputation:
- political mud-slinging

It was a joke to announce that the Major Mud-slinging between Candidates had begun.

Typical responce from someone who understands nothing, thinking they know all.

Propaganda that is spewed from both sides of the political spectra do not count as Stereotypes. If you read back to what Stereotyping Really is, I've provided more then Adequet definitions for you. you can read it here http://www.startrekvoyager.com/viewtopic.php?t=17642&start=25

You don't seem to understand, let me clarify. You stereotyped an ENTIRE GROUP without even trying to clarify things. And you do it on a constant basis.

That did not involve you, so it would be nice if you butted out. Not all things have to involve you in them.
