i have a question, hopw much is a gallon? in germany we have how much euro it costs per liter (lol, i hope you know what i mean, don't know if iot's the same in english), and one liter costs about 1,40 € my brother and my father really complain about it, when we still had DM here (2 D M=1 €) it was only 1,20 DM, and since the hurican or what it was was in south usa, the price rised from 1,16 to 1,40 €

A gallon is about 4 litres. And I have absolutely no idea how much petrol is around here, since I don't drive and haven't been past any petrol stations recently.

Well, on the way back from the seaside, we stopped for petrol and I think it was 98p ($1.50) a litre. So that would be... $6.00 a gallon, maybe more.

America has less taxes. The tax that britain puts on petrol pays for our health service so that we don't have to pay if we need medical attention.
I think that's a much better system.
And we don't have as much oil in our back yards, like the Americans do. Our oil comes from the North Sea and Saudi Arabia, but they're thinking of stopping drilling in the North Sea because it's massively affective the cod population there and cod could become extinct... which means no fish and chips!!!!  
Everyone should get less attatched to their fossil fuels, then they wouldn't complain about petrol prices. You can run a diesel off vegetable or sunflower oil. Just think about that, growing your own gas.

okay, i was at the gas-station today with my brother. and i found out, how high the taxes in germany are. when you buy petrol for 1,00 �, u pay 73 cent taxes

It is not cheap in USA right now. Where I am at it is 3.18 from 3.57. Gas prices is outragous.

oh, but it is still cheap in america, maybe not compared to how it was before, but compared to germany. i just saw in tv, that germany has the highest petrol prizes in e�rope

Actually, I believe the UK has the highest petrol prices in Europe...
$6.88 a gallon here...
(If you post what it is in litres and Euros in Germany I'll work it out for you  )

Just done it based on 1,40 Euros a litre... it's $6.64 a gallon in Germany. So the UK's is higher (and yes, I know it's because we pay the most in tax on petrol).

Was $2.99 two days ago, and it went down to $2.74. I still think that's insaine, but my cousin was telling me in Madison, WI it's like $3.30. I guess i'd rather have it cheaper than more, so i'll deal for now. *sigh* -- atleast i still have a roof over my head, and a city still to live in.

I don't pay for health care, my work covers my health insurance.
I work, I get health care. I like that.
