Durrr.......... I've been driving my uncles Ford F250... which is a diesel truck. Since my mom uses the honda to drive to work and my dad won't let me drive his car.

Looks like in some southern states, gas has hit nearly 5 dollars a gallon.

IntrepidIsMe is so right...
In my hometown it is already three dollars and twenty-five cents... it is getting outragous. Here on base on Fort Stewart, there are lines backed up at both Shoppettes. Shoppettes ran out of gas. So anybody on post have to wait til tomrrow.

But in your TIM you were driving your sisters car... And diesel doesn't run that much more. Anyone with eyes can see that. Nice effort.

Whatever, I'm not going to argue with someone who I don't even know about what car I drive. Thats as stupid as arguing over peoples interests. You don't want to believe me fine, I honestly, truly, do not care. But around here disel is running about $3.50 a gallon.

Petrol here is 99p ($1.50) a LITRE. You Americans complain all the time about gas prices, but compared to what we pay, you pay jack *beep*.
Maybe if petrol prices go up we'll finally have solved our pollution problem, because people will have to get off their all-you-can-eat butts and walk that half mile to the shops.

You miss the point. Our prices jumped astronomically suddenly. And things in the US aren't as close together as they are in Europe. The nearest "shop" to me is 30 miles away. We're spread out over a larger area, few work in the town they live in.

I don't mind people who live 30 miles away driving, it's just the idiots that drive 1/2 mile up the road who really piss me off. Especially they ones who complain they're fat.

Actually, not to defend Starbuck, I've been puzzled over the fact that diesel is twenty cents more than regular gas, at least everywhere I've been in California this summer. It shouldn't be, as diesel is a byproduct of gas, but it is. I could get pictures.

^Truth, or at least truth is that it IS higher price, even here. Don't know how much, though, but for some reason diesel is higher priced.

I'm guessing it's just because they can, since it makes no practical sense. My grandfather owns a trucking business... filling up a tank of diesel? $800.00. And uuuuuup goes the price of firewood...

Diesel's more expensive here, too. No-one here understands it.
madlilnerd - We do pay more for petrol, but only cos we pay so much bloody tax on it. And it's still cheaper to travel by car than by public transport if you're over 14/16 (depending on what part of the country you're in).

Diesel is more expensive because there are higher taxes and tariffs on it.

It's been about a year since diesel overtook petrol here. Used to be the other way around.

Your fule prices are still VERY cheap. By working it out i worked out that a gallon in dollers in the UK would be about $9.15

Diesel is dropping lower. I had to leave the office and do a gas survey today. 3 cities. All lower. What about the offer from Venezuela, any more news on that?

They are.
Also, diesel engines are coming back here in the US. They're cheaper and more efficent than gas powered vehicles. So, even though you may be paying more, it costs less in the long run.
