PostMon Aug 29, 2005 2:51 pm    What TV service do you have?

Well what I mean is do you have satellite, cable, or digital cable?
At my dad's we have regular cable, but at my mom's we've got digital.

So what do you have?

And what do you wish you had?

We have basic cable from Comcast cable. THe only reason we have it is to get hi-speed internet service thru them. Unfortunatly we don't get any cool channels like TLC, History Channel, Animal Planet... etc *Shrugs* oh well. It makes it a special treat then to go to people's houses who do have it -- especially on like trips to go visit family.

Personally I prefer satellite. It's nice to be able to scroll thru and select and find what you want under different catagories and such.

DirecTV. It's soooo much better than cable.

And Allie really does like the History Channel, We watched it one day, (while she was visiting).

You can do that with digital cable (here), too.

We used to have digital, but I never used any of the features or anything, so just switched back to regular cable. I don't really notice too much of a difference...

Shaw Cable. Digital cable in one television because it has the box thingy hooked up to it. Either way I get Space in my room, so I'm happy.

I'm not going to debate cable versus satellite.

Yeah you can use it with Digital Cable but in most cases I like the Satellite setup better.

Depending on where you live, you can upgrade to digital cable with comcast, and actually SAVE money, since they're trying to convert their system to all digital. Then you might get all those channels.

Look into it.

That's pretty much what I got too. We only get like 20 channels.

I have Sky Freeview downstairs (Satellite digital with no extra packages... good picture quality, and a few extra channels such as Tiny Pops, BBC 3 + 4. ITV 2 + 3, BBC News 24, CNN, and hundreds (it seems) of shopping channels ...there are more, but it's hard to list them). I have terrestrial TV upstairs, both in my room and Sammie's. Just BBC 1 + 2, ITV 1, Channel 4 and Five.

We're going to figure out a way of hooking the TVs upstairs so they can get the feed from downstairs... watching Tiny Pops in Sammie's room will be fun

I'd love Cable (especially Telewest), but they don't do it in our area.

Yes... simply because we have a big one that doesn't fit in our room, but does in hers. She watches the cartoons in the mornings on it, and I watch programs on it when someone else is watching tv downstairs. She also has her own CD player, and vcr, and we have a small telly in our bedroom, connected to a DVD player. People keep giving us electronics
