PostFri Aug 26, 2005 11:57 am    Star trek Insurrection Teaser trailer goof ups?

Has anyone else noticed, that in Insurrection teaser trailer that in two places (people getting phaser rifles from rack, and starship battle in space) they use pieces from the First Contact movie, and say that it is from Insurrection, and when the shuttle is crashing back towards earth, that Picard's and Worf's shuttle is not connected to Data's shuttle?

I did see that but its also like that for the first contact teaser trailer or at least the first contact teaser trailer I saw but also in the card set for insurrection even though I only have like 1 pack that one of the cards was that same scene with the ship battle in first contact

The teasers for FC used pices from Generations. I think this is on purpose, so it dont give to much away.

^Yes, you're right.

I also assume that at the point where they release the trailer, they don't have all of the movie scenes yet. Only a small fraction has been edited enough to releas on screen. So they just add some scenes of other movies and/or episodes to fill up time.

Also, they don't expect every person to notice! Only the real fans notice

Ya. Only the real fans notice. That makes sense. I mean, if you haven't watched any of the movies in the first place...you're not gonna know. But they didn't do that with Nemesis.

i didnt notice it in inserrection, infact cant remember it... but in the First Contact trailer me and my friend noticed that they blaitently used footage which had nothing to do with FC and i agree they obviously did it purpose for some reasons probably because they didnt have enough of the film to edit from, and in star trek nemesis trailers i noticed that they used scenes which had deana troi in the lift which had been deleted.

Ya...I liked that scene with deanna in the lift...It should have been kept in the movie. The way they did it was cool. Not something that Trek does very often. Circle the turbolift with the person standing in the center. Cool look.

They may have cut the turbolift scene out cause it would have made the difference between an R rating and PG-13, it was a little intense. added with the other rape scene

I think they did the same thing with the teaser trailer for First Contact as well. I was watching Generations and I noticed that it looked like they used some of the footage from that for the trailer when First Contact was coming out. It's definitely...weird.

Oh, and the teaser trailer FOR First Contact had an image of Voyager firing on a Borg Cube...!!! You should go back and watch it...

Not only that, but I was watching Insurrection the other day, but I noticed that Deanna's office that Riker goes into, is Voyager's breifing room. They just put in a whole bunch of extra stuff, blocked the door that leads to the bridge, and put up a fake wall with a fake door across from the door that leads to the bridge.

And we all know the big goof of them using Voyager's Sick Bay for the Enterprise. They just replaced the door. Why do you think they wouldn't let us see the corridor from Sick Bay?! Because it's Voyager's corridor! haha...LOL.

That is awesome! I have First Contact on DVD for the 2 disc special edition. I'll have to watch the trailer again and see. I don't own Insurrection but I plan on getting it, I'll have to see what you mean with Voyager's Sickbay. Was it Insurrection where they used Voyager's Sickbay too? That's funny that they had Voyager's briefing room in that movie too. I haven't seen Insurrection since it opened in theaters a few years go.

yea, the movies are AWsome... though the trailers could have had some more time spent on them... it looks like they took random clips from any series, movie etc. and stuck them together in a order that they looked good in.
