not really. The movie wasn't what I expected it to be from the previews.

The things I thought were tacky were: the cars and the fact that the reason they gave the clones their conciseness was because "their organs would fail without it." Whaaaaaaaaaat? If anything, science has taught us that that much isn't true. People have been living in commas for decades... Not to mention life support.
But, it was still a movie worth seeing, IMO.

I wouldn't have a problem with it, if the answer made more sense, or was some crazy medical thing most people wouldn't bother to look up. But its just common knowledge. Sheesh.

Then why nitpick over the tiny little details?

Tssss, that isn't a "tiny little detail." It was the base of the whole movie that they were consious. If they never needed to be, then there wouldn't have been a move at all.

I don't know how true it is, but someone told me today that a legal case has been filed against The Island, alleging it is based on a 1979 film called Parts: The Clonus Horror. If I find out anything else, I'll post a news link, as I'm sure anyone else will.
If it's blatant plagiarism, then I suppose there should be a case. If not, then it seems unfair to file a case against The Island. We'll have to see.

Aren't there supposed to be producers and stuff who take care of things like that? Making sure it's not plagerism or buying rights and all?
