PostTue Aug 02, 2005 12:38 am    FAMILY IN IRAQ

I know there are many of us that have family in Iraq. Right now my brother is sering out one tour. He along with 4 others from Oklahoma voluntired to go and transfered to the Arkansas National guard so that they could go sooner. I thought it would be nice if those of us who have family over there as well as those who don't could talk to one another and keep each other updated on how our family is doing as well as what they are doing over there.

Of course the current military forces should stay. It's imperative that Iraq becomes a strong, democratic country now that its previous leadership was overthrown, which means that the U.S. forces need to stay as long as it takes to train a capable Iraqi security force.

My uncle just went over there about a week or two back. He has to stay there for a year.

I voted yes. My husband been over there twice and my cousin is over there. I don't think they should come back until they completely train the Iraqi Forces.

TSS ! TSS! They need to be over there. How could you say no when you really don't know what went on over there only by the news who spins lies?

The Iraqi people still need help. Yeah it would be nice to have the home but not at the expense of people who need our help.

Founder how is your uncle doing? My brother is ok but I worry about him alot because he is on the head tank in a convoy and that seems to be what the unsurgents are hitting alot of lately. People please I made this topic for people to talk about their loved one's over their not to discuss the poll. If you would like to discuss weather or not we should stay or not feel free as long as you are also talking about your family over their.

I voted yes.... We need to stay. If we leave them in the state that they are in now that will lead them to a revoluion which will allow the terrorists to take over again. We cant go and take over a country then leave without finishing the job. Thats not the American way.

We can't leave. If we leave, then Iraq will become a failure and an unstable place. We need to stay the course, and perhaps bring more troops in. NO timetables.

C1 was very clear. Focus, it's really not all that difficult.

One question why are we helping them when they ambush American soldiers and shoot them and put them on fire and then little kids run around playing with whats left over of their clothing?

I haven't heard from him since he left. I'm not sure how he is. Good, I hope.

Thats not the entire country. Many of them are good people. They deserve freedom.
