This'll be the fourth!? Argh! I think I've missed one!

I've only seen the US one and the International one!

Which is the one I'm missing?

There was a trailer shown back in 2004 at Comic-Con. It was never released to the general public, but some low-quality videos exist.

Yayness. What exactly were they fighting the Alliance about, in the first place?

The Alliance composed the central planets. For some reason, they decided all the planets would be better off under their rule. There was some disagreement on that point.

I didn't like it. I thought it was really odd and I I didn't think it made sense.

In which case, I have to think you weren't paying attention. There wasn't anything terribly confusing about the plot.

The plot shouldn't have been too hard to follow. In my mind, if you can follow some of the episodes Star Trek has had, you shouldn't have a problem with Firefly!

Were there any bits in particular that you didn't get - maybe we can help you out?

Hooray!

Was this the first time you had seen Firefly or had you seen (and loved) it before it's recent re-airing?

Well actually, when I heard about it It was on it's second or third day of showing .. it was the last episode and I tuned in right when they were going to make a trade with some old woman on a horse and stuff ... I just didn't really like the whole concept I guess. Star Trek shouldn't be mixed with Western movies IMO.

Ah, tuning in to the last 15 minutes will do that.

And while I agree that a SF/Western mix is a dubious idea, I think you'll see that Firefly actually pulls it off in a surprisingly nifty manner. Give it a few more episodes; I can PM you a link to where you can download the entire pilot if you'd like.

Oh, and this isn't Star Trek. Not even close. Star Trek is about the guys who make history; Firefly is about the people history left behind. The "little guys", as it were. It's an entirely different type of science fiction.

I honestly tired watching firefly once but no offense it didn't amuse me at all. I was bored. But, that's just me. My kids liked it.

Do you happen to recall which episode? Not all of them were meant to be amusing (although every one has at least one funny part).

Context is important for this show, also. With most SF, you can simply accept whatever setting they choose, and say, "let's go from there, tell me a story." With Firefly, the SF/Western premise is unusual enough that it's harder to do that. You need the intended introduction to show you at least some of why it's that way, not just that it "is".

Trust your kids. They know true quality when they see it. (Apparently. In this case. Actually, this is probably a special case. Trusting kids is a bad idea.)

On the Information bit it says

"It may be time for River to leave, when a bounty hunter bent on her capture steals aboard the Serenity in the middle of the night"

(It doesnt tell you what the episode is called)

Could someone please tell me which episode (Name and number) it is. Thanks

I'm so happy Sci-Fi is showing Firefly. I haven't been watching it, but it's comforting to know it's on somewhere and being appreciated

Space: The Imagination Station, the Canadian science fiction & fantasy channel, is having a Joss Whedon 23-hour Labour Day marathon. 6 hours of Angel, then the entire Firefly series and then 5 hours of Angel.

Coincidence with the release of Serenity so soon? Methinks not.

www.serenitymovie.com has been given a major update.

Lots of dialog and music clips everywhere, and even a clip of one scene hidden away if you look hard enough. Plus some games.
