PostTue Jul 26, 2005 7:54 pm    Navy NCIS

Does anyone here watch Navy: NCIS?

I think it's a great show, a worthy addition to the forensic science/crime dramas that are all over our screens at the moment. Mark Harmon and David McCallum are two of my favourite actors, but the rest of the cast do a great job as well. There really is no substitute for chemistry.

I've missed quite a few episodes so I hope there's a DVD release coming soon (it'll be interesting to see what packaging they use).

I hope there are some other fans here. I've always been a fan of any military drama.

EDIT - I have done a search and can't find a specific topic on this show.

I use to watch it before Charlie came back home from Iraq. He wears me out with his ADD so I go to bed earlier than usual.

I watch it sometimes, its an okay show. But, one forensics show is enough, if ya know what I mean. And that just has to be CSI,

I sort of agree with you. There are too many CSI shows, although I prefer CSI: Miami to CSI. That could be to do with the fact that I was a big Miami Vice fan back in the day, and am a mark for anything set in Miami.

I haven't watched CSI: New York yet. Not sure if I want to. Is it a case of too many "samey" shows? Also, there have been countless police dramas set in New York City over the years. I have nothing against the city (I actually like it) but I do think the second CSI spin-off should have been set in a city or state that hasn't been featured on TV before.

Yeah, its kinda the sameish as Miami. Its good but... they all seem the same after a while, so I stick to just one. There is stuff that you'd only get in NY on that CSI, but still, its kinda blah after the other 2.

CSI: Alaska or CSI: Hawaii would have been good ideas, although I'm sure they'd have only lasted only a season, because with so few people living in Alaska and Hawaii (compared to most states), the series would run out of steam. I'm only kidding.

What's CSI: New York like? CSI is more about the science, in my opinion, whereas CSI: Miami is more about the investigation. Navy: NCIS is a mixture of science and investigation, although it's more unique, having a military premise. Anyway, what's your view, Mr. Intrepid?

I don't like CSI Miami or CSI New York. Nothing beats the Las Vagas one!

Its more science oriented, I'd say. Although it was old already when it started, since they had the two shows running previously.

CSI: New York is also more gothic and dark.

NCIS is GREAT! One of the best shows currently on TV. It mixes drama, comedy and thrill VERY well.!!

Oh and BTW is not NAVY NCIS anymore, its just NCIS. they changed it after season 1

I hadn't noticed to be honest. I guess I should pay more attention to the opening credits.

It's a JAG spin-off, and I don't watch it... How sad am I?

Not as sad as me, who doesn't watch the parent show, JAG.

I would like to watch JAG but I don't have satellite TV and JAG has never been shown on terrestrial TV. They showed the pilot episode in 1999 and then some of the first season in a ridiculous late-night slot. But our stupid terrestrial channels (and their dire reality shows) have never obtained the rights to show JAG.

I will watch the JAG boxset if and when one is released, though.

I love it when Gibbs slaps Tony and the team up side their heads. lol even though a show needs seriousness ,but it also needs humor.

I like it when Gibbs calls McGee, "Elflord".
