Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:14 pm A total waste of school funds |
|
I live in Newcastle England as some of you may know.
Tonight I found out that my aunt is going onto one of the ships that are taking part in the 'Tall Ships Race' with her collegues from the primary school where she works, which is you know ok after all everyone deserves a break.
When I found out that it cost 75 pounds which is rather alot of money, WHOA I thought what waste of money, then I found out that the school she works for was paying 50 pounds for every member of staff that wants to go and the staff then pays the rest of the money.
Christ I though 50 pound per member of staff that wants to go,
Well your looking at these sort of figures,
10 teachers (Two do not wish to attend),
4 Classroom helpers (Maybe more)
10 Dinner ladies (Maybe more),
At 50 pound each your looking at about 1100 pounds !
Payed for by the school, What a waste of resources. That money could have bought school books, school trips and who knows what else.
What a total waste of money !
Come on though seroiusly would you want your child going to a school like this ?
Lets not mention the fact that a few years ago they closed the school gym to all white pupils and only ethnic children could enter it at break times.
I don't know if this is still in effect either way this is disgusting ! !

Our school spent 3 million pounds on a community sports hall and now every school in the area is copying them! In a few years, the area will be full of unused sports halls.
Also, around school we have monitors up, sending out messages. They'll say stuff like "Only Jacket potatoes are available this lunchtime" or "Puneet Farooq please report to the office". It another way the school is controlling us. Anyway, they replaced all the monitors, that were in full working order with flat screen ones!
My school always seems to have money to burn, but there's hardly any good art supplies, all the music supplies are crap and there's no glue or scissors in the classrooms!

That headteacher should be shot (since it's ultimately the headteacher's decision on how the money is spent). I'm hoping to see the Tall Ships tomorrow, though

The headteacher is a tart, she wears really short skirts, high heels and drives around in a very nice sports car

/\ sounds like our depty head. She's having an affair with the head of PE. Everyone in the school knows it.

My school buys silly things like water fountains that never get turned on and picnic tables that we're not aloud to sit at and bbq huts

Presumably so you don't sniff the glue while stabbing another pupil

Why is it that in America (and apparently, the U.K.), some of the most important things are being treated by government-and-industry (they're really one big thing) as afterthoughts:
Child care
Education
The family unit
Health care
Care for the elderly
These are viewed by government-and-industry as non-productive by-products, when really they are the foundations of "civilized" life.

I am forced to agree, maybe if it was possible to for a goverment to be in power for say 20 years then maybe these would be considered to be the most important, after all :
Childcare
Education
The Family Unit
Health care
Are all very important, with these the greatest civilization can be created however since most goverments stay in power only a few years it would be nearly impossible for a goverment to set up a long term plan to make these the number 1 priorities, The way polititions look at life is this :
Make Money
Create Allies
Make Money
Stay In Office
Make Money
Does this message make any sense ? I know what I mean but I can't really explain it.

You almost got it.
It's really like
1. Get born rich
2. Suck up to people
3. Get campaign money in return for "favors"
4. Get elected
5. Make lots of money
6. Return to Step 2.
