They were real to many people. No real Priest would say its just a story. It is believed to be our(Catholics) beginning. Just becase you're intolerant, doesn't mean that it isn't. Your word means nothing. Especially when you make posts like that. You lose all credibility. This is the ONLY reason I don't support gay marriage, because of CERTAIN Gay people and their "supporters" attacking my Religion.
Excuse me? I used to go to a CATHOLIC school. And I asked ALL of the preists I've met about Adam and Eve, and they all said ITS A STORY. Why don't you ask one?

Now, back on topic. Good for Canada. I think this is a good step to becoming more accepting and tollerant of other peoples.

LOL, my mom went to Catholic school all her life, but, again, Illinois is a special place.

And Birdy, it is the point. He didn't deliberately attack anyone. He's not allowed to have his opinion because someone may find it offensive? We ought to all just stay in our homes with our mouths shut forever, then.

No, just as gay people, or myself, don't intend to attack anyone. How come you still say he's attacked? because he feels this way. Just as I and other people feel attacked by you and others, because you think we can't lead our lives the way we want to.
Of course he can have his opinion. I'm just saying that we maybe should all take a good look at ourselves, and how we say things, with what intention.

I didn't say you attacked him,
Posting things that are debated as fact one way or another is wrong. Someone did so, and used that for the basis of their argument, and they were very rude while doing so.
Guess that's why they pay me the big bucks, though.

I know
I agree with you on that.
Ah, right... Ok. Well, I just want anyone to state their opinions, I certainly don't mind that! Otherwise I wouldn't come here anymore
Just if I agree or understand those opinions is another matter

Wellp, Founder. I'm probably one of the most tolerant people you'll ever meet and I respect your opinion on the subject!

Thats why you're a good person and your opinion means something.

Birdy wrote:
What about you? You're attacking their lifestyle.

You like putting words into people's mouths is that it? You don't know me. You don't know my stance in this issue. You assume all Catholics are againt. Thats profiling. If I said that Gays like to go club hopping, wear bright colors, and say "Thats SUPER!" all the time, Gay would flip out. But its ok to assume I'm some person that hates Gays because I'm Catholic. I simply said, its hypocritical that I support gays, but they dont support me.

OHHHHH!! Thats too much to ask! Equality!!!!*Hiss* Evil!

I'm conflicted about this Gay thing. I want to support them but their attacks on me and my Religion is making it difficult. Here is a word of advice to all Gay people and their supporters(I'm being VERY serious, NOT a joke) STOP attacking other people's views to empower your own. You are getting no where. Those who are in my position will be reluctant to help you, because you find it funny to berate us and our beliefs. I know you're going to say "But you do it to us!!!". Some white people were raping, persecuting, and even killing Blacks. Martin Luther King didn't do that back did he? He instigated peace and wanted only equality. You all CLAIM to want equailty. Guess what? You won't ever get it by going down the route you'e taking now and if somehow you do, it will take like another century. So stop attacking those who are not your enemy.

Birdy wrote:
Yeah, and by stating his opinion, he can offend and attack people that are gay. Just like gay people can attack him with their opinion. They have also enough reasons, but that's not the point.

What the hell are you talking about? How did I offend anyone? I said that I don't like when you all attack my Religion. How is that attacking you? What you don't like the thought of not being able to attack people's beliefs?

First of all, I can already tell your lying. You went up to every single Priest and ask them the same question? Right....
I have asked one. They don't believe that its a fake story.

We are on topic, but as for the Canda portion. Yeah, good job Canada...

The funny thing about your posts is that your putting your foot in your mouth. I attacked no one.

I would have to agree with Founder on this one. He was not attacking noone. He is just stating his opinion. To me , he is being attacked cause of his religion. I know the feeling.

Watch it there, pal, I asked all the priests at my school the same question and they all gave me the same answer. When I go to church on sunday I ask them if its real they say "its a story" it shocked me too, but hey.

Sorry. I'm sure some Priests say that, but that is not the belief of Catholism and the Church. But rather SOME, VERY FEW, radical Priests, but hey.

Yes . . . and no.

Good step, but I'm not sure how long it will last. Alberta's already rambling incoherently and foaming at the mouth, whispering that it might sidestep the law by getting out of the marriage business. Meanwhile, keep in mind that we're probably going to have another federal election this winter. Stephen Harper, leader of the Conservatives, has promised to revisit the law if his party forms the next government, and if it's a majority government, there's a good chance he'll be able to do something about it.

I feel offended because you are against gay people to marry. I just can't understand why. I know you have a religion and that's why you don't like gay people to marry, but... It's hard for me to understand that.

I have new outlook on life. Even though I disagree with the gay life, but that does not mean I have to be judgemental about it anymore cause it is not my job. I thought about this last night, prayed and thought hard. I have to learn to accept anyone cause I am not suppose to hate even the gays. I may disagree with the life style but I should not be judgemental anymore. No I am not being a hypercrite just trying to change my life around so I won't be judged on judgement day.

Did that make sense? I am worried. Trying to make sense in some way.

I'm so glad for you Deb. This is what I tried to say to everyone in my thread in Chit Chat....and I'm sure I made it clear that no one has the monopoly over God....it's GOD's job to judge us, not the other way around etc..I'm happy someone has finally come around to understand and accept that simple fact. Any true Christian should be able to grasp it...it's such an elementary concept. Most people who pass judgements on others and call themselves Christians are hypocrites....and well, we know what they say about hypocrites....

Anyway, w00t for Canada!

I mean the route of berating Catholics. Attacking our beliefs.

WRONG. I never said I don't agree with gay people getting married because of my Religion. I'm not trying to be mean, but please read my posts. I've already explained why I disagree with it. Please, just read over it again and I promise you'll understand.

Basically for some reason homosexuality is a major issue at the moment. I don't believe they should have sex or anything like that, or get married. But I'm not against the people, just the actions. Also something that people forget is that God also says stuff like adultery are wrong. It's all the same to Him, and so they shouldn't be viewed as worse than anyone else. But I don't think that they should "marry" as such, before God if you know what I mean. But I also don't think people should marry again if their spouse is alive. That isn't well put but if you have more questions then post or PM me.
