I want some opinions on this movie idea. This idea would be a movie based on the future Starfleet that travels through time fixing time problems and catching time criminals.

Time travel is a writer's crutch.

No it wouldnt work imo. IT would be just to hard for someone that isnt a complete die hard fan of star trek to understand what was fully going on in the film. In Star Treks already weakened state i really wouldnt like to see this it would just be too much

Didn't they already did a time thing in all the Star Trek series? If so, I don't see how it could work cause it would be boring unless they come up with a good story line. I don't think people would be interested in it in my opinion.
Unless they get pretty good writers to make one up that will make it look interesting.

It's kinda cool, but as mentioned star trek is in a weakend state, to make a movie with a complex story line as that would be hard. Pulse it would be stupid for a whole movie being devoted to chaseing one time criminal

::cough:: Timecop ::cough:: Baaaaad idea.
I really think Star Trek needs to get back to its roots, of exploration and meeting new civilizations. This doesn't mean the next movie or series needs to be bereft of explosions and conflict, but it does mean that we need something with which present-day fans can identify.
Whatever happened to exploring today's issues by mirroring them in the future? I want to see that in another movie. I want to see something new, something original, rather than a rehash with a retconned plot that made no sense.*
*I'm referring of course, to Nemesis, although Final Frontier would also meet this description adequately.

I don't know, it might be cool. But they've already had way too many time travel episodes throughout the years as it is. And had a time travel movie already with First Contact and even Generations was kind of paradoxyl because of things that went on in the Nexus. But if it had a good storyline and good characters from either of the shows, or some characters from the shows combined, then I guess I could see it being cool.
