Bank robber gets cash with message sent through drive-up tube system

CHICAGO - That was easy.

A bank robber behind the wheel of his car Tuesday sent a note through a vacuum tube to the teller at the drive-through window at a branch of Chicagos LaSalle Bank, and the teller obliged, returning an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The exchange was completed through the banks pneumatic tube communications system, in which canisters are passed back and forth between motorist and teller.

The FBI said it was investigating the drive-through theft.

The bank is owned by ABN AMRO Holding NV.

I am at a lost for words.

Most likely it was saying something like he had the person's family hostage or something.

^ Didn't you see "Pulp Fiction"? As Ringo clearly (or maybe not so clearly) states, "Federal banks ain't supposed to stop you in any way during a robbery."

But its a drive though, I'll have to agree with Jeremy, perhaps the note said something about the person's family

There's been two banks that have been robbed as one of the top guys families were taken hostage (they were actually) and the person told. Both got away with about 1 000 000 ($1 660 000). Both times the family was released safely after, so if it happens again people will probably go through the with request.

LOL!!

I read that subject line and I got to "Threw the drive up tube system," and I said to my self, "What?" And started to laugh.

Okay.. that wasn't so funny.

Anyway.. this just shows you how dumb the world can be at times
