Second Skin was one heck of an episode, to even think of the plotline alone deserves some kind of award. To mix Major Kira, a lone bajorian who has hated Cardassians all her life, with the fact that she was a Cardassian was crazy. It gave a great insight into the section 31 of Cardassia (I forgot what there origination was referred to as).
I have never found Major Kira attractive in any way, but strange enough after watching this episode I do remember that I changed my feelings towards her, Maybe its just my fetish with star trek, or something else.. *rolls eyes*

The Obsidian Order is the S31 version of the Cardassians.
I actually found Nana Visitor to be very attractive. At first, I didn't but she began to grow on me.
As for this episode, it as really good. Although I haven't seen it in forever. I agree that the irony of her being a Cardassian all along, would have been great. But that was of course all a ruse.

Ah, The Obsidian Order, I knew that both Elim Garak and Enobrein Tain (Forgive the Spelling) where members.
When I first saw the team of Nana Vistor and Avery Brooks, I was a little shocked but it. I didn't know how they would have picked a man that looked exactly like a gorilla and a woman, like here, as the two main character s of the show.
It seems that Star Trek always had a nice ace up their sleeves but they always didn't see it through completely making a lot of things on ST nothing more than a hoax. If they would have dared to make Major Kira in fact a Cardassian, it would have brought so much poetic mockery for the entire show, if you know what I am trying to say here.

I'm not sure how to comment on the Sisko looks like a gorrilla thing....
As for making her a Cardassian officially, it would be pretty dramatic, but I think it would be too early for that kinda revalation. It would have been stronger around Season 6. Especially after growing to believe she was Bajoran.

You can't deny it! Each time I see him before he grew the facial hair all I think about where gorillas... Dont get me wrong, Avery Brooks was the perfect actor for the part of Sisko.

Agreed, it would have made for an awesome cliff hanger type thing at the end of a season, but if they did that it would have gotten rid of the other episode where Kira's Cardassian father came back to the station and died from a sickness. By not doing it, it gave DS9 a pretty good story arc. The reaction of the bajorians would have been nice to see, would they allow Kira to remain at her current post, or would they take her off because of her hidden heritage, or would they simply keep it quiet?
Cardassians were treated really badly by the Bajorian people after the occupation was over. I do remember where Garak and Bashir went down to Bajor on some episode where they were looking for a lost Cardassian child they was left their after the evacuation. He was treated all right but he, along with other children, were forced to live in a type of internment camp for their own safety. this makes me think and lean to the government letting Kira stay where she is, after all she had hated the Cardassians all of her life, but I wouldnt be surprised if another Bajorian official was sent up there for public interest, not from distrust.
