I think his character in Quantum Leap suited him much better. He really over acts and showcases in enterprise. His acting is very 'I am the great captain archer, this will be the journey that goes down in history',speeching too much.I know its set in the early space exploration era,but he really over does it.Sorry to scott bakula fans out there.Im used to the acting talents of Patrick Steward in the next generation.I guess noone can live up to his captain acting standards!!!!!!

You mean Archer Vs Sam Beckett - Surely?

And Sam Beckett was better. Archer was boring. Water Polo, puhlease..

Neither...he was so limited in playing on Quantum leap. He didn't really express the people that he was in control of very well, almost as if his acting capabilities were just that limited.

Enterprise?! Please! Not hardly. He didn't possess ANY of the command qualities needed to be a starship captain of any sort. I wouldn't give him command of a construction ship, let alone the SUPPOSED "first Federation" ship...Please!

You got to remember that enterprise was a new experience role that was limited, and scott couldnt go beyond that limit because the show didnt give him a chance too.

ya right the show didn't give him a chance to. He had 4 whole season to take charge and put what was necessary into his character. by the 2nd season we should have seen a more forceful Archer, but the actor was limited...that's why he didn't have what Janeway and Sisko had. He just sucked.

quantum leap only because of how the other captains acting job. I think he thought he was playing an army commander or something not a Starship captain but was convincing enough

Definitely Quantum leap as a show, however I think Archer was a better actor on Enterprise, so I guess it's kind of both.

PostFri Jul 24, 2009 6:54 pm    His next leap... to Trek!

Quantum Leap was a good show even though its episodes were hit-and-miss. I prefer Bakula on Enterprise though.
