Which of these two great upcoming systems do you believe is better? I beleive that the XBOX 360 is going to be better.

Although Microsoft is a great company it should stick to making PC's and not gaming consoles we all know of a certain failure Microsoft made with one of its portable gaming consoles.
Anyway the PS3 should shoot the X-box 360 out of the virtual water

Define "better". I think each console will be good in it's own way. No console is perfect but each console has it's strengths.
What I don't want to see is online flame wars on all the Games Forums between young folk who say "Xbox 360 sucks! PS3 rules" or "Xbox 360 is better than PS2. So there!"
The planet is big enough for more than one console. Just enjoy.

I think that the 360 is much better for many reasons it will have more memory, and it looks cooler and over it has a better looking presentaion.

Yours is a very intelligent reply. Believe me, I've read games magazines and been on forums where people bitch about a 'rival' console because a certain game isn't available on it or some other ridiculous reason.
Your reason is at least valid. You've said why you think Xbox 360 will be better.

Bet ya anything this topic get's pretty heated pretty quickly!
As for me, I surely don't know which will be better. XBOX and PS2 have been out for years already and even now I couldn't say which is the 'better' console.
Different games, different graphics, it all depends on what you prefer.
Personally I have a PS2 but there have been times when I've conisdered selling it for an XBOX simply for a different variety of games (Republic Commando and the Knights of the Old Republic series - but at the same time, PS2 has had the GTA titles and Metal Gear Solid) and I think it'll be the same with the new consoles when they are released. I think the same arguments that we have now will rage again.
I think people tend to mistake their preferences for what they perceive as being 'better' when, at the end of the day, it is all a matter of opinion...

There is no doubt in my mind that the X-box 360 will be successful on many different levels and meanings of the word but the :
A big feature I think will make the PS3 more successful is the fact that the PS3 will allow up to 7 Players to plug in unlike the X-box 360 only allowing 4 players.
And there is the fact that the PS2 will be backwards compatable with PS2 games where as the X-box will be backwards comatable with only CERTAIN games
I do think that the PS3's profits will be HEAVILY damaged by the fact that GTA is now going to be available on all platforms.
As for the XBOX 360 looking better that the PS3 that is really a matter of opinion.

From thos pictures I think the new XBOX looks too much like a computer but I absolutely despise those PS2 controllers.
Are they controllers or boomerangs? In my opinion, appearance-wise, the XBOX has it.

I suppose the controllers do look a bit wierd but look at it this way.
When you lose on a game and throw the controller across the room you won't have to go and pick it up because it will come straight back to you

Xbox 360 because of Final Fantasy, Perfect Dark: Zero and Halo 3. But apparently the price is about 500$ Canadian and could go up.
But I believe that the multiplayer experiance for the 360 will be much better then the PS3's will be.
To me the best part of a game is the online experiance.

It is true that both system are good, But you just can't compare the ps3 to the xbox 360, reasons More mem, faster load times, and better controlers.

I think, this time round, I may go with an XBOX (I know, I've turned to the dark side).
One of the main reasons why I bought the PS2 was because I love the GTA games and PS2 was always the first console to sport these games. Now that the license has been thrown open and XBOX will also have the GTA series. Well it changes things for me.
Also, being a Star Wars fan, XBOX has had quite a few Star Wars exclusives to its name (Republic Commando and the ever-popular Knights of the Old Republic for example) which, hopefully, will continue. I hope these titles at least are compatible with the new XBOX. If not, then I may consider. Of course depending on the price of the 360 when it's released, there's no guarantee that I'll even get one. At least not for a few years yet...
mad_d0ggie - why do you think the 360 will have better online features? I'm not challenging you or anything - I simply have never played online and therefore have no idea how the systems work nor which are better/worse....
On a side-note, apparently there's a Halo movie script floating around Hollywood (possibly this is old news to you but it's the first I've heard) and because of the popularity of the games, is likely to be snapped up very quickly. Could well be that, a couple of years down the line, we're facing Halo at the movie theatres! Having never played the game myself, I don't know if that's a good thing. In past experience, good games have made bad movies (Wing Commander, Tomb Raider) but maybe Halo will be the one to break the mold.

I wouldn't say sales would be damaged but I reckon there'll be a difference if they compare the PS3/XBOX360 sales figures with the relevant PS2/XBOX ones. I know that as well as myself, many people chose PS2s because:
a) The Playstation 1 had proven to be a success. The PS2 was then able to pull on this success, capitalising on its predecessor's established reputation. When the XBOX was launched, it was Microsoft's first console to be introduced into the market. With no reputation behind it, it had to start from scratch.
b) The exclusivity of titles such as GTA, Metal Gear Solid and Tomb Raider which were unavailable to any other format. As a fan of all three of these franchises, the PS2 seemed to be the obvious choice. However, I was disappointed with Tomb Raider on the PS2 and the Metal Gear franchise is beginning to lose its novelty as far as I'm concerned these days. GTA on the other hand, is still as good as ever with increasing popularity, made even the more so because of its being released across both XBOX, PS2 and PC formats.
I think that with the new XBOX coming out before the PS2, it's going to give them a headstart in the sales game. I'd like to say it'd be a close call but I still think PS3 will be the bigger seller - again, simply because of the reputation Sony has gathered for itself amongst the gaming community.
Having said that, I think I'll be going for an XBOX - once it comes down in price.
