Thu Jun 02, 2005 7:34 pm AIM VIRUS ALERT |
|
There's a new AIM virus, it comes from someone on your buddy list with a message like "damn, this looks just like me lol" or "rofl look at this" or "this looks just like you" they're followed by links that come from google or ebaumsworld. They redirect and download a worm, then it propogates itself through your buddy list. Its a medium risk worm, but it *beep* up your computer bad. McAfee can't find it and Norton has a hard time killing it. I got really lucky, MSN redirected it to a search instead of the worm.

I deleted mine off my computer cause I sure don't want no virus on my new computer. Even though I got a program but still just in case.

don't go thinking MSN is safe though, MSN is a lot worse than AIM. MSN is probably the worst program ever created.

I haven't had a problem with AOL. I always got viruses on my Internet Explorer. That is why I now have Mozilla Firefox.

I meant to post this the other day, but there's a website called www.jayloden.com. If you have aim, I recomend downloading AIMfix (its only 103 kb) and running it if you have aim. Even if you haven't caught the worm yet.

Just a warning but this thing is officially on MSN
I have it and its really annoying,
My friend has Macafee and she can't stop it,
I have no protection (Yet) so I'm screwed and it sends message like 'ooh you look wierd' or something like that

MSN will do the same thing. It has happened to my friends before where i've just been talking to them, and suddenly a random link appears w/ some text, and i know it' not from them. You gotta be careful about that stuff aways just in general whether it's aim, msn, yim... anythng!

While we're on the subject of AIM I was wondering if I could get some feed back.
I can get into AIM fine, but when I open an IM box it just crashes. I don't get an error notice or anything. I've already redownloaded it a dozen times, but it still does the same thing. Can you offer any help?
Thanks,
~Andrew

MSN. You have msn, don't you. I often have version conflicts, you just have to stick with an older version of aim.
