PostSat Jun 25, 2005 7:48 am    What have you bought this month? (June)

As we head towards the end of June, let's discuss what we spent out "entertainment budget" on. Please don't just list what you brought, tell us what you brought and why.

DVD-wise, I brought two WWE DVD's this month. I brought Best Of The Intercontinental Championship, a 61 minute DVD featuring five WWF Intercontinental Title matches from the early 90s, featuring the cream of the WWF crop. I've also brought Road Warriors: The Life & Death of Wrestling's Most Dominant Tag Team, featuring a documentary and matches featuring The Road Warriors/Legion of Doom, a dominant tag team who wrestled for promotions like AWA, NWA and WWF/E. I can't wait to view this one.

The only CD I brought this month was You Can't See Me, WWE star John Cena's debut CD. I'm not the biggest fan of rap but I liked some of what I sampled and decided to buy the CD. It's got a bit of explicit content in but the songs do appear to have been put together with a bit of imagination.

I brought one book this month - Slamthology, a wrestling book which is a mixture of travelogue, ficton, opinion and historical analysis by John Lister, one of Britain's best wrestling journalists. It's a very interesting, insightful and witty read, if you're a wrestling fan.

What did you buy this month? Remember, don't just list them, tell us all why you purchased what you did.

EDIT - I've rented House of the Dead out. It's a zombie film set on an island. I do like zombie films so I hope this one lives up to my expectations. Anyone seen it?

No DVDs or CDs... don't really buy them much. Books-wise I've bought People of the Wolf because fy poeth carwr said it's gooood, As well as that I'm waiting for Deception Point, Digital Fortress and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown to arrive from Amazon. I read The Da Vinci Code and really enjoyed it and was ordering some other stuff from Amazon and needed to spend a bit more money to qualify for free delivery, so I decided to get Dan Brown's other books since I don't have much else to read.

You brought Van Helsing??? I didn't even know he was a real person and, besides, isn't there a law against buying people?

All i've bought this month were a few packs of guitar strings. My budgets a bit limited since I quit my part-time job.

I went shopping today... overspent a bit. Here's what I got and why.

For starters, headed round the clothes shops. The cheap and manky clothes shops. None of the clothes I picked in MK One looked nice on me so I went in Atlantic Clothing. Most of their stuff is manky beyond belief but once in a while, you spot a gem. This season, there's loads of military style clothing around, which is great, because I love army clothes. Okay, none of the army clothes look good on me. They either made me look even more flat chested than Samantha Carter, or they made me look pregnant. On way out spotted black shirt. "Great for concerts", I think to myself. Buy Black Shirt With Petrol Station Patches on it (7)

I went to Woolworths, searching for the movie Big Fish and guessing that they would have it cheapest. Spent a whole hour searching through their DVDs and couldn't find it. Got pissed off and bought Donnie Darko (only 2.99) and Moulin Rouge Special 2 Disc Edition (9.99). Why? Because I felt I'd wasted a shopping hour, I wanted to see Donnie Darko (and at that price, I was practically shoplifting it), I wanted to get Moulin Rouge and the special edition was only 2 more than the 1 disc.
Went next door to HMV. Spotted Donnie Darko on sale for 3.99 and felt happy I'd saved a quid. Managed to find Big Fish (4.99) in less than 5 minutes. Felt triumphant. Went to Savers and bought some leg wax 3.99.

I just got home and realised I didn't buy any wool. Oops, Ash isn't gonna be pleased when I tell her I can't start her jumper.

Err... Well, lots of food, cuz I live with my boyfriend (we shop at the cheapest supermarkets and we still spend about 300 euros on food each month..)

Some handcream. Nailpolish. Clothes for my graduation party, including shoes. Makeup. Shampoo. That sorta stuff. No cd's or DVD, I haven't done that in a looong time. Just too expensive!

I have bought a lot of stuff this month.

The main one is my new computer- AMD Athlon 64 3400+ with 1GB DDR Ram and 120GB harddrive... plays my games very well

To go with the computer I bought a TFT monitor, and a cordless keyboard and mouse set that is going back to the shop because it keeps sending my webpages back. I've also bought a copy of Windows XP corporate edition.

I bought a wireless network router and cards today, and have got them working. Now have the internet working on 3 PCs

Got Johny an early birthday present- a DVD recorder for the telly. He's happy.

Sammie got new clothes, and a swimming costume. Everything I think of buying for her her nanna buys first...

Of course, most of our money normally goes on food and bills and stuff, so it was nice to have a little extra to spend on ourselves.

I bought contacts! Of course that meant I had to pay for the eye exam and everything, but oh well. I bought a digi cam. Got an awesome deal. Tons of little things like makeup, hair products, coffees.

I bought a new acoustic guitar (I got it for $15 it was my friends) and I need to buy strings and stuff and I'll need to have it tuned and then I'll need to buy some lessons just to brush up (I'll probably end up getting them for free from jason ) which will bring my total spendings to about $178.44 because I'll need to buy the book.

I bought a nice camping chair, a dreamcast, a N64, a 27" TV, some film, developed the film, a lava lamp, me and a girl I know went all around town Thursday; costing me $35.

And I think thats about it... 'bout $110 spent with no steady source of income to replenish it.
