sure..but i bet u might dont understand what i like even if i tell u .

there are really a lot i love to read..althought i have watched that english comic books but i have seen some english cartooons..like TOM AND JERRY. CARFIELD ,SNOW WHITE, MICKEY MOUSE AND DONLAO DUCK .u know i have seen a lot of that but dont know how to spell it in english cause what i have watched were translated into chinese.

The comics I listed in my initial reply here are the ones I read the most. I also enjoyed reading British comics like Eagle, Lion, Tiger, Hotspur and 2000 A.D. I don't know if anyone outside the UK is fond of them, though.

The guy below is my favourite. He's Judge Dredd, Lawman of the Future in the crime-ridden Mega City One. He's been a mainstay of 2000 A.D. since the 70s.

Here's one that every person should read. It's Action Comics #1 from June 1938, the first appearance of Superman. You'd have to spend a lot to buy one of the few issues in existance but it's no doubt been reprinted somewhere.

And here's Detective Comics #27 (1939) - the first appearance of Batman. In that issue, Batman was a dark, ass-kicking vigilante who took no prisoners. Robin would not appear to "brighten" up Batman's world until Detective Comics #38 (April 1940).

I hope the new Batman film is as dark as the original stories were. Anyway, here's Detective Comics #27 (1939).

I just get images of them and add a bit of trivia. Comic reading used to be a passion and I love talking about vintage comic stories.

i cant exactly kow what it is in english but its all about that there is a cartoon person named dingding and what happening on his way .

Quite a few, yes. I quite liked Ultramen. The Japanese have given us some interesting characters over the years.

I haven't read manga as much as British and American comics but I am familiar with it.

Yes. Not sure of current titles but over the years, all the popular ones have been available. Manga is very big over here.

oh i see.i felt like knowing more about England before but not anymore..but its good to know more interesing stuff ,like some comtic books but i am not sure if i can buy it or even see it over here in shanghai.

The Judge Dredd movie was passable, in my opinion, I just think it could have been so much better than it was. I felt that they humanized Dredd a little too much. It was a good concept, but the film just could have been so much more. Also, I watched it again recently and I personally feel the film looks dated, even though it's only ten years old.

Just my opinion, of course. I do hope we haven't seen the last of Judge Dredd on the big screen...

Basically, it gave the history of comics, and it showed how some of them influenced our society. For example, X-MEN was created in the '60s by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. It's original purpose was to make people realize the affect persecution has on people. (in the US at that time there were a lot of hate crimes being commited against blacks, especially in the southern states). The X-MEN comics showed that at the core, despite their outward appearance, mutants were just people struggling with the same things as other humans. It showed that it was wrong for "normal" people to add to the everyday problems, that we all face, by treating them as lesser beings.
