You all are NOT understanding what I am saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm saying that I don't support any environmental policies that SIGNIFICANTLY affect our economy, such as Kyoto. I do NOT want to live in a land of smog, god damn you! I have NEVER said such things, and you are interpreting what I'm saying in a god damned INNACURATE way. You are COMPLETELY misinterpreting what I'm saying, damn you!
Understand now, damn it?

EDITED: Okay, maybe a bit too far, but I'm pissed now. Sorry about that.

Forgive us, but when you say twice our economy is more important than the environment, it is not hard to see, how someone could come off with that impression.

Well, it's nice to know that you all got the interpretation that I wanted a planet full of smog

(btw, I also have said before that I support advancements in technology to limit pollution )

Damn damn, digity damn ding dang damn. See, I can say damn too.

Don't forgive me. I still stand by it. Suppose the only environmental policies that do enough to save our environment are the ones that will hurt the economy, what then?

If there is something that is a PROVEN and IMMINENT threat (NOT like global warming), then I would support the necessary and BEST policy to save the environment. But unless it's exactly that, and it greatly hurts the economy, then I'm not for it.
Minor pain to the economy is always necessary, of course, but if it hurts the economy too much, and it's not a proven and imminent/extremely dangerous threat, then I'm not for it.

Global warming is already killing thousands. I think that's evidence enough.

None at this time. I do see pollution as somewhat of a threat, however we should deal with it by perhaps giving incentives for NEW TECHNOLOGIES to be developed that could limit pollution. I'm all for that

No, it's not. You can cry global warming, but if you look at the numbers throughout history, temperature fluctuates. It has little to do with global warming.

No no no, you misunderstand my question. What would be one, there obviously isn't one at the moment, or your stance would be different. I mean, what would you concider one?

Something with the overwhelming evidence that the environment is being greatly injured. I don't know exactly. It moreso depends on what it is at the time, what the research is, and what the situation is. And I'm not against prosecuting businesses for using rivers for pollution, btw, especially if it's significant pollution.

Yes, but it increased about 0.5 degrees celcius every 100 years I think the figure is. Now it's about every 10 or something along those lines. Sound normal?

Actually, since 1880 it increased 0.6 degress. It's not every ten

wow... 25000 peope... that's really bad. IMO people shouldn't buy exports as much, it's export buyers that are making those people go broke. If they bought a car from their own country, they might be able to save someone's job.

If the environment is destroyed our economy will go with it. So trying to save the economy first isnt really going to work. Save the environment first then save the economy.

I just don't get how the economy is so belittled in so many views...Even if our economy is significantly damaged for something as worthless and trivial as, say, the Kyoto protocol, we HAVE to do it. Who gives a damn about the economy--it's SOOOOOOOO COMPLETELY secondary

I agree with the Republican The Environment keeps us from dying off, the Economy does that yes, but not as well as the Environment.

Evil! My dad's buying one of those new Cadillac's in August. I love it.

I agree, they are ugly. We test drove one, it sucked, Slow pick up, uncomfortable, typically American, Now, you could get a Japanese car for the same money, but with more stuff, Not that we did,

My boyfriend/fiance's father works for GM and his entire family works for GM. Hopefully they won't get their jobs cut.
