I knew this movie would be pretty good right when I saw the preview. I mean... Russell Crowe and Ron Howard together, it's got to be good. We already know that from A Beautiful Mind. I didn't think I'd like Renee Zellweger, she had already done her 20s stunt in Chicago and I wasn't too impressed with it.

Howard and company portrayed a very realistic, accurate and well... depressing picture of the Great Depression, that it was harder than just money, jobs, and food. Feigned aristocracy was arife, yet there were still those like Braddock who still believed in America. We get to see the damage done by Hoover and the beginnings of trust in FDR. Nice and historical.

As far as the boxing went, to tell the truth, by half-way through the movie, I was sensing another Million Dollar Baby, which had just made me lose faith in the Academy for giving it all those awards. But Russell Crowe and Ron Howard, though maybe not yet the legends of Clint Eastwood, would prove to far outdo him and Hilary Swank in more than just boxing (maybe not Morgan Freeman though... that guy is amazing).

All in all, though I was every bit as impressed as I thought I would be. Too sad that a good, real issues movie is being kicked out by stuff like Adam Sandlar playing football. Really, America... come on.

I want to go and see this movie. I saw a review of it on the program "Talking Movies" and it made it sound fantastic. I don't really like boxing, but I'll go see it anyway.

It'll be good too, because I don't really know anything about the depression

You see, it's strange, I'll cry through Star Wars but I probably won't cry during this. I'm odd.

I don't know if the movie is out yet in England. I will go check.

I've seen the trailer. It looks depressing and gritty, but realistic. I don't think I'll see it at the cinema but it warrants a DVD rental.

I want to go see it. And I think everyone should. So they can see how things were back during the depression. When $250 was unreachable.

Russell Crowe is a good actor, he is right for this role. I might go and see it at the cinema, actually.
