Bossy and stubborn, that's me! But I also do listen to others and take into account their opinions and views and try to solve things diplomatically. I'm not a pacifist though. I believe there is always a time when the only way to conquer evil is to fight back. And I won't tell the people what to do, I'll just brainwash them with propaganda and adverts, the good old American way.

So, now we brainwash with propaganda and adverts, huh? That's the American way? I am beginning to detest you...
Oh, and that goes against the rules, I think, attacking a country like that...

And no, he meant on the 87 billion, for and against the war, saying that we were mislead after supporting it and pushing it for years...gosh, do I really have to dig through all the posts I posted? Besides, the election year is over, Kerry lost. No real use in arguing this now, is there?
*sigh* no, I don't want your posts. Your word means nothing. I want facts from a credible source.

American adverts brainwash children. Your average American child can instantly recognise Ronald McDonald but not Jesus or other figures you would expect them to recognise.
Americans are brainwashed to believe that big SUVs are good because they are "safer" (even though they are not). You are also brainwashed to believe that you are paying too much for petrol (gas)

Go ask your kids which is the best country in the world. Almost certainly, they'll say America. Ask for a valid reason why it is the best and post it here.

And I am pretty sure people from other countries if they ask they kids which country is the best, they will say their own so don't even go there My kids are too young exception of my youngest son. He says everybody on earth is equal.

Give the kid a medal and make him the next president

I don't think that England is the best country in the world... I'd go for Japan. Nice and developed but still looking after fuel emmisions.

Yeah, not all Americans think its the best country. I'm almost ashamed to be an American, but proud at the same time. Its a very complicated thing.

Uh...sure. No, no, no. The reason for less recognition of Jesus--that is, if what you're saying IS true, and I have little reason to believe that it does--is because of the rise in SECULARISM, and you can thank the far-left wackos for that
They quite are, and it's not brainwashing
Americans aren't brainwashed...well, maybe LIBERALS are, but...

I won't post their ages, but I'm sure that my younger brother AND sister say principally that it's because of our freedoms and liberties, and I'll get exact quotes for you
And it's NOT called brainwashing. It's called PATRIOTISM. Ever hear of that? Guess not. You're British and you're not too fond of America, so when you see someone say that AMERICA is the greatest country on Earth you are OFFENDED by it because it's not YOUR country Oh, and btw: just because we think that America's the best country in the world doesn't mean that we think that we as PEOPLE are better than everyone else

Actually, it's NOT a 50/50 split! I would say 80/20 at the LEAST. You are in the MINORITY, but you just don't want to see that most DO love America.
And also, I was NOT being rude. I was JOKING!!

I'm in denial? I am in denial? With a person like you posting here, I really think I should stay away from this topic. I don't want to get into trouble, and I think that me continuing to post would only agravate things...
And say it about Republicans. Go ahead. It had an and was NOT an attack. It WAS a joke. Right out there--as a joke! And people tell me, including here, that I'm too sensitive...

Gotta post one more thing, to back up my truths:

The Truth about American patriotism wrote:
MY COUNTRY 'TIS OF THEE

Americans may be rusty about U.S. history, but they are still overwhelmingly patriotic.

Americans may not know their Founding Fathers or how the United States gained its independence, but they don't think that makes them bad citizens. They show their patriotism when it comes to spending their hard-earned cash: 75 percent of Americans agree that buying items made in the good old U-S-of-A is important to them, according to the Fall 2000 Survey of American Consumers conducted by Mediamark Research Inc.

Some 87 percent of Americans said they are "very patriotic" in a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center in November of 1999 (the latest year for which any major polling firm collected data on patriotism for public release). Still, a June 1999 FOX News poll found 74 percent said that people are less patriotic than they were 25 years ago. The belief that people used to be more patriotic isn't new. In a 1983 New York Times poll, 68 percent said people weren't as patriotic "as they were when you went to school."

((So sure, it's gone down, but nonetheless))

....

I'M A YANKEE DOODLE DANDY

A full 77 percent of Americans age 60 and older say the term "patriotic" descibes them "very well," compared with just 35 percent of those aged 18 to 34.

Q: HOW WELL DOES THE WORD PATRIOTIC DESCRIBE YOU?

Sushi Anyone?

The young and the affluent are the most culturally adventurous.

Q: HOW OFTEN DO YOU FIND YOURSELF EXPLORING AND LEARNING ABOUT CULTURES THAT ARE NEITHER YOUR OWN NOR THOSE OF YOUR ANCESTORS?

Source

Yes, that was, and by "person like you" I meant people who are not patriotic and therefore blindly say that about half the country is like them--which is not true. And I shouldn't have said that, however, and I apologize. Did I mean it? Yes. But should I have said it? No. I'm sorry

Yes, any more posts should be about the candidates.
