It doesn't forbid gay marriage, and I've yet to hear someone say that it does  .
And to those Republicans that simply have the belief that judicial filibusters should be stopped for purely political gain, thinking that this is good for them, I say nay (and there are FEW that are doing that--most are standing, like me, on principal). To me, this is NOT simply a matter of whether it's better for the Republicans at this time or not--because clearly in the future it wouldn't quite benefit us, if (IF is the keyword here  ) the Republicans ever lose control. To me, it's a matter of what's right, and what's more constitutional. And clearly this constitutional option, which was compromised in this deal, is the right thing to do. A loss for the Republicans, yes, of course. But more than that, this deal has become a loss for.
