The word special got ruined when they started calling schools for kids with learning difficulties "Special schools" instead of "help centres" or whatever they used to call them. Not that kids with learning difficulties aren't special, one of my mate's is dyslexic and very very clever, it's just that I don't really think any school is "special"
I'm not special. I'm some kind of wretched outcast

I think it's absolutly idiotic to change yourself and your ways just so other people will like you, or to fit in. It wouldn't be you fitting in, it would be your "plasticy" self. In my opninion, the best thing you can be in life is yourself.

I'm having a bad day too. Maybe what you should do is go to places where you and others have things in common. For example, a star trek convention? I'm sure there are others who are like you in many ways, I know being different can be very difficult. But, I would try to embrace it rather than feel bad about it.
::edit:: That is a pretty deep poem Ruth. I hope it isn't how you really feel.

I go to conventions. I get depressed. I realise I have wasted both time and money. I feel more depressed. Hurrah

here, I feel like I am part of a HUGE family, and dont get me wrong we are like a family here, we are happy when people join us and saddened when people leave. Most of us here are amazing people we probally walk past each other everyday and we dont know who is part of the STV family.
I personally try not to fit in I have a problem with trusting people I dont like to fit in and to let my guard down

I am entitled to feel emotion, you know!! When an adult's angry or upset, it's all comfort and love, but whenever it's teenager it's all "Stop being so grumpy"
Well, just *beep* off, alright?

Getting back on topic....
I feel like I fit in pretty well with most people. I think I am pretty laid back for the most part, and that makes it easier. Not that I care if I fit in or not, but just saying .

I do get that a lot!!!!! And thank you! :blushes:
In reply to Puck's post, yes it does help when you are laid back. It makes people feel more open and you seem more approachable.
