The acting was BAD? My gosh, it was EXCELLENT! Maybe they weren't the BEST in Episode IV, but otherwise...excellent. I mean, Luke's scream after he heard that Vader was his father...very well-done.
And also, I would NOT see remakes of IV-VI, and I would advocate a boycott. And besides, the actors are the DEFINITIVE characters--no one could replace them.

They are filming a Star Wars TV shows in autralia. Filming will begin in June this year. the episodes will be 1 hour long.

Also with the sucess of Clone Wars (Cartoon) they are going to make another series. Accept this is going to be a 3D animated series set between episode III & Episode IV. These episodes will be half an hour long.

In my opinion. I think they should stop star wars now. It is at its peak with millions if not billions of fans. It should quite while its ahead. It would be horrible to see it go down the drain.

The show between Episodes III and IV will be live action. That could be what they're filming in Australia.
Also, the CGI show IS the Clone Wars show, but I HATED that.
I agree that they should quit while they're ahead, and not end up like Star Trek--with something ruining it.
And there was NEVER supposed to be 9 episodes. Your sources are wrong

Actually when Lucas was coming up with the idea of Star Wars he originally planned to do 9 films though in recent years he has claimed the Star Wars story has been told across the current 6 films - some claim he is now too old to continue the saga whilst others say that he's done what he intended to do, he just compressed it into 3 films. I don't know what the real reason is but as for post-ROTJ, well we have the books and in my opinion Zahn's 'Heir to the Empire' trilogy (highly recommendable for Star Wars enthusiasts) is almost as good as the original trilogy, possibly better in places albeit there is no Darth Vader

Anyway, I found the following link which goes further into Lucas' idea of a 9-part story and the information in it is backed up in the book, Once Upon an Empire: The Making of the Empire Strikes Back which gives it a fairly official line on the subject, bearing in mind that the source material is based directly on an interview with George Lucas, the man himself:

But then again, he also believed that he would make the Prequals have Luke as a little boy back then But I really don't think he was QUITE planning for 9 films, and I don't expect it. The books do more than he ever could. But I WOULD like pre-prequal, Sith War-era movies.

As I've said before, I'm not too big on the idea of a tv show. I think it would be more cool if it was like Ep. III, more adultish. So maybe they can have the tv show on HBO? That way I don't have to sit through freaking commercials or the show won't have limitations. If its on UPN, we won't be seeing any hands come off.

I bet whats his name has somthing to do with it to. Orgionaly, Lucas had made a treatment that would need 9 to 12 installmets. How ever, he took material (mostly from what would have been like IX) and put it in ROTJ

Likely. He had talked about originally making serials--maybe he just shortened his ideas into 6 movies.

Might be a good plan, but then you can go on forver. Then you can make Sequals too return of The Jedi too.

Got a whole new meaning for me now: "return of the Jedi".

I still vote for remakes of IV, V and VI. Maybe calling them Returning Hope, The empire strikes back again and rerun of the Jedi

Reasons I'm thankful you have no control of the Star Wars franchise.

lol, I agree! And it took you THAT long to figure out the name "Return of the Jedi?" I've known since I was, what, seven? lol And the sequals are in the books. Movies of sequals should not be made.

I tought return of the Jedi meant that After the Defeat of luke by darth vader he got training by Yoda and 'Returned' as a real 'Jedi'. voil, return of the Jedi.

but it actually means the return of the Jedi by defeating the sith and taking back the control that they lost in Episode III. The Jedi where there, there was a whole Council of them, a lot of Knights and masters, then they all got killed, they dissapeared and in episode VI the Jedi returned.

Wrong. It means the Return of Anakin.

Please tell me you're kidding. No matter how many FX shots they throw at the screen, the original trilogy will always be far and away better than the prequel trilogy. There are simply too many problems with the prequels.

Besides, the changes made in the Special Editions of the original trilogy clearly show that Lucas doesn't have a good grasp of what needs improving there. He failed to fix some obvious FX problems, and he made changes which, if anything, reduced the effectiveness of certain scenes.

Anyway, Star Wars' future is in the novels, just as it always has been. At lease those usually tell a a good story in addition to the cool battles; the recent movies haven't seemed to know how to do anything except look really pretty. The substance of the plot just isn't all that strong.

In the mean time, September 30th draws closer every day.....

What's September 30th, again? I think I may know, but forget...
And Episode III's more than showy stuff--it's got plot, too. Best of the prequals, best of the movies (not by far, though).

The movie which, with any luck, will prove that an SFX-heavy movie can have a strong story as well:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/serenity/

Don't get me wrong, the Star Wars prequels have been great visually, but the writing hasn't been nearly as strong as it could have been. Probably why I enjoy the SW novels more than the movies.

The Cave

Pink Panther
Crash
Land of the dead
The Devils rejects
Night watch
The Skeleton Key
Corpse Bride
Serenity
Chronicles of Narnia
Stealth
The fantastic Four
X-Men 3

Not that this is the right topic for that. Should i make one?

This board's policy on duplicate threads is stricter than I like, so you should probably check for one first. But sure, if you want.

I'm looking forward to Serenity more than I was Star Wars. Not sure why...it's just been so long since we got fresh Firefly goods

And similarly, I agree that the Original Trilogy should not be remade. It's a classic and whilst I don't mind Lucas tweaking the odd thing, inserting an extra scene here and there, I don't think it should be remade from scratch...

I'm almost certain that George Lucas has already confirmed the Star Wars live-action and CGI series:

Dirt> There do seem to be a lot of Star Wars topics up at the moment, they'll probably die down when the hype over the new film wears off though.

With Lucas saying it a Celebration III (which I've posted MULTIPLE times, INCLUDING in this topic ) it's real

Of course not. Star Wars happened a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Think of it more as a history documentary.

Yes. The confusing thing is, that a long time ago they were very much more advanced than we are now!
