Mon May 23, 2005 8:43 pm I know that this is a Star Trek site, but... |
|
I really think that there should be the creation of a new Star Wars forum, entitled "General Star Wars Discussion," "The Mos Eisley Cantina," or some other creative name in which the large amount of Star Wars fans here can discuss the series. There are now so many topics popping up in Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Drama that it could soon be overrun by Star Wars topics!
That is why I request that despite the fact that this is a Trek site, a Star Wars forum should be created.
I therefore start this Petition to create the forum. Even if you don't like Star Wars, consider whether or not you want Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Drama to be overrun by Star Wars topics. When you sign the petition, please add yourself to the LIST of petitionees or whatever you call them. I'll start the petition.
Also, when you sign the petition, please suggest a name for it.

Yes in light of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, I've noticed a lot more people come forward and admit they are fans. I knew it. Anyways, I agree with this petition, but it all depends on certain stuff and how much room this will take up.

I don't think that just because that third movie is out now there should be a whole new star wars forum. In about two weeks SW related post will drop back like a yo yo anyway ( ).

^ This topic is not really for discussion of the new movie.
RM, I think the forum you're looking for is called Suggestions, Feedback, & Help, and I'd advise against petitioning for what you want. A group of people who start demanding something will be much less successful at achieving what they want than someone who makes a nice little request in the right forum where others can give their opinions if they wish. Personally, I don't think we need one. Dirk's probably right that most of the discussions will die down once the hype of the new movie goes away. I'm sure Scifi, Fantasy, and Drama can handle it until then.

I vote against. A Star Wars Forum on a Star Trek Forum is a bad idea.

Boo to Star Wars.
I urge against it. There is already a "Scifi, Fantasy, and Drama" forum, that should suffice for Star Wars needs.

There could be one called "The Star Wars Cantina" (after the spoof song) in the same group as chit chat, but I don't really think there should be. This is a Star Trek site. Star Trek is constantly being repeated on TV. Star Wars isn't permamently on.

Where did I DEMAND for this, hmmm? No where
And problem is, NO other site that I've found is really as active and as great as this one. I've created a Star Wars forum site, but no one posts there except for Founder and I. I can understand the argument that this is an ST site, but if you want a Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Drama forum FILLED with Star Wars topics, then fine.
Please lock.
