who here thinks that their is some type of force that controls things like in star wars. I believe that their is a force that controls things and that you can tap in to it to manipulate if you have the will and discipline.

Just to let you know, if this turns into a "Do you belive in God?" topic, it will be locked. There is one in WN.

It makes sense that there would be.. sort of existentialist in phiolosophy. After all... Einstein said we only use 10% of our brain. I think it's pretty rational to believe that even with only 10% our brains, we've come so far, who's to say that there aren't greater abilities with the rest of the 90%? We just can't tap into them yet.

The Ten Percent Myth is actually an encyclopaedic error more than a scientifically proven fact. Humans do use most of their brain.
There are in fact four forces. The electromagnetic force, gravitational force, the weak nuclear force, and the strong nuclear force. The interactions of these forces with matter is, from what we understand, why matter and energy behaves the way it does.
The one true Force is of course Bureaucracy. It is strong throughout the entire universe, and nearly impossible to combat. Bow down.

I believe there is some kind of force thing, chaos and order altogether, some kind of force in the universe that keeps everything balanced. Like Karma, but different.
This all depends on whether you are an internal or an external person, whether you believe you are in control of your life or that outside forces control you.

It's weird. I meditate every night before I got to sleep so that my mind is ready to rest and is nice and clear... but i don't believe that gives me abilities or anything. Maybe I'm still just that little bit out of control. My counceller said I have control issues, and that I can't stand the thought of my emotions and thoughts being out of control.

But if you would ask me if it exist i would say Yes.

The human brain can store data and process data faster than any computer so who were does it say that if you have the will and mind power oyu can't use your mind to manipulate the enegry of the universe or something along that line.

I agree there is the potential to Tap into a "force" (for lack of a better term), I myself have had experiences,
Where I know something is one way say I left a book open (not a real experience but I have had similar experience ) the house is empty noone to close it, darn..
I arrive home and its closed just like I wanted it.
Did I tap into some other force, did I just close it and forget about it.
Well I don't believe I did close it, I have a good enough memory to remember a few hours ago.
Although that wasn't a real experience similar things have happened plus I do get day-ja-vu every now and then but maybe I just imagine it either way I agree in a "Force"

We already do. As proven by Dilbert and 1984, if enough human beings categorically deny the existence of a fact, then that fact might as well not exist. In Dilbert, readers consistently see management and marketing deny any allegations made by engineers. And in 1984, near the end, O'Brien explains that while they cannot of course control whether or not 2+2=5, if they can get the collective species of humanity to think that, then it doesn't really matter anyway.

I believe in the Force, in a sense. I would call myself a "Daoist Catholic" in the sense that I am a Catholic, but I also believe that God is a force that combines us, penetrates us, and makes life move, etc, as well, similar to the Force.

I'm surely not in control, or my life wouldn't be so messed up!
