PostFri May 20, 2005 5:36 pm    Is life going the way you want it to?

I, being a newbie, am fascinated in all of you So i just wanted to make a nice general and interesting convo.

Things are looking up with me, my self-esteem issues are starting to fade and, although the weather here in the UK hasn't prooved it yet, Summer has started and the Sun should be shining. I have things in the near future to look forward to and most things are going my way right now. So all in all, life in general for me is on it's way up
I'm just waiting for the rollercoaster cart to fall back down now...

Life is never going to go the way you want it to.
Just yesterday I was with a friend at the drive thru of del taco and I was watching a homeless man have a cigarette lying on the sidewalk of a busy street. I was instantly hooked on watching him because I wanted to feel like that. Feel free, no worries or anything to hold you down, hold you back.

I'm not saying I want to be homeless, but I'm sure you get the idea.

But nothing ever goes your way. And you will never be fully happy because naturally people always want what they can not have. And some things are out of reach, so that leaves us feelin like crap cause we can't have it....

But I'm happy!

It was... I mean...

I got into a very prestegious Christian LIberal Arts school (world renowned for its music program) (my one school of choice

I got into the honors program there that was the major reason I wanted to go there in the first place

I got 71% of my tuition paid through scholarship

But now... with the Jedi gone... it all seems for naught.

Saddening, yes...I LOVE the movie, and life went GREAT yesterday. Today is once again "fine."

And congrats on the scholarship, Kenobi!

I'm more of a Christian.. well, I think I still am.. anyway, I leave my fate up to God.

It's not been easy.. neither of my parents have had it easy either. My mom was beaten all the time along with her mother by my mom's father.
My dad was an orphan rejected by his family. He was also in the navy in a submarine. What better gift can God give then to have the family I have now. They may not be great, but by God there the best for me.

For me, it's been rough.. I guess it makes me stronger in the future though. If some one tells you that your teenage years are the best, then I think they need to relive it. Teenage years are the hardest. In my opinion, but I guess it's because most of the things that happend to me were brought on by me.

At this point, I honestly don't know. If I fault my life will I be condemed by God? It's scary.. I don't know what to do in life to meet his standards.. i'm scared, basicly..

God bless,

~Andrew

In reference to the teenage years, i wouldn't know if adulthood is better or not, but the teens have been my worst years so far. My history is probably made me more thankful for what i have today.

The thought that youth is happy is an illusion, and illusion formed by those who have lost it.

(lost youth that is, not lost it as in gone crazy)

All in all i would say no, my life has gone terribly. but at the moment things are okay. They seem to be leveling off slightly. I'm doing well in college, i have made a few friends since i started college and stayed friends with some friends from my hightschool and i have become more confident lately despite my awful past.

That would be the point of staying young and childlike (not childish, mind you) forever. Then "illusion" is not an illusion. It's reality. And youth is better than ever.

I didn't make that up... I read it somewhere. It seemed relevant.

Look what you've done Ashamaleeee! I've become a twisted wretched prune thing because of you making me think!

I guess it depends on what kind of teenage life you've had. Some have very good ones.. other's aren't so fortunate.

To be honest though... the one's that say they've had a really good life and everything is peachy then they aren't really living. No one has a good life anymore.

That trail of thought had nothing to do with being a nerd and you know it!

Thanks, Andrew, but I'll make my own choice about how I think my life is going. I've dealt with a lot of crap in my life, illnesses, sicknesses and sadnesses that I've still yet to overcome. But to say I haven't "really lived" is offensive. I just know that it could always be worse and choose to bear with my realities rather than complain about them. It could always be worse. For anyone.

That's quite true. In the majority of situations you may land up in, there is almost always something worse that could happen.

People do still live good lives, I often think the best lives are the simple-ist. I would like to lead a simple life, perhaps go and live in Mongolia and heard yak or something like that. Simple, no cars, no worries except where my yak are... excellent.
You can tell I've had food since my first post on this thread, I'm slightly less hostile

I didn't direct that directly to you, Sam Kenobi. I agree with "It could always be worse." It really could. No one has a perfect life. Even Jesus wasn't that fortunate. And no, I didn't chose a way of life for you. You classify it as you will. It's your life.

No offensivness intended.
