Has anyone ever realised that in the first few seasons, Bashir's real name is Siddig El Fidel but in the later seasons its Alexander Siddig.
And we all know that the same person play bashir through out the series so i guess he must have gotten a name change  but still why would he want to change his name. There must be a valid reason.

Wow, I never noticed that before! Maby he was getting teased or something and so he changed his name to an more "American" style name

I dunno thats realy weird for someone to change their name! Well I suppose it was a strange name?!

PFFT is like a sound you make when you hear something that you basically dont like and think is rediculus. Thats the only way i can explain it. lol. Just watch the simpsons. Homer does it quite a bit.

He didn't change his real name, just his stage name. I remember reading in the DS9 companion that it still says his original name on his passport. 
He wasn't married, although he was involved with Nana Visitor (Kira Nerys) at some point during the show, I believe.

No offense C1988, but there is a topic about him right under this one.  As chocho_11 pointed out, I answered this question there. He changed it because people could not say his name properly and he was tired of it.
HH? He married Nana Visitor and they had a child. They divorced as well. He was also married before her.
