PostFri Apr 29, 2005 1:45 pm    Madlilnerd's kinda lovey poems (tell me what you think)

Mini archive here. I don't think any of the ones I'm going to put up here will rhyme or be particuly funny and happy. This is hardcore beatnik poetry. Please don't steal my stuff.
Ruth Raynor

Eye Contact
Eye contact,
We won't, we can't
make it. So how can we
MAKE IT
In the the harsh wide world
If I can't even look into
The dark pools of
The creature I want
So bad it hurts. I'm
Scared your lakes will
Smother my amber fires
You're scared
We'll connect? You'll see something you like?
All in all
We just can't make
Eye contact

Hold Me Now
Hold me now
I won't let go
I can't let go
Of something as beautiful
Nay, perfect as you
I want to feel you
I want to feel your sparks
And now that you'll
Never let go
Just like I can't
And hold me now
As I wish I could hold you

If you really like these, I've got some longer ones too.

I'm not all that great at making things rhyme, although earlier I ran round the house shouting "Caribou STEW!!!!" like a mad woman.
I started writing a poem about the environment that rhymed:
When fields are gone
And pastures green
Are hardly ever heard or seen
...

But I thought it sounded lame. Ages ago I wrote my own version of Spike milligan's "In the bing bang bong" and it was called "Jingle Jangle Land".
I'll email it home from school and put it up here.

I re-read Jingle Jangle land. it sucks. I mean, really sucks. It doesn't even rhyme properly and the pace is all screwed up. Now I'm writing a play. I got the inspiration for the play from two internet cartoons (watch in sequence)

WARNING! THESE INTERNET CARTOONS WILL UPSET YOUNG CHILDREN, THE ELDERLY, PEOPLE WHO AREN'T MESSED UP IN THE HEAD AND THOSE ON HALLOUSINAGENIC DRUGS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

then watch (if you aren't screaming from the weirdness)

anything for you, Nadia

DISCLAIMER: If you think these poems are awful- blame Nadia. She told me to put them up.

Okay, the first is called Morning, and was written at 6.15 on a rainy March morning.

Morning
Bland grey, uncreative and harsh
On my splattered window
My sweet nest
Beckons, but I cannot answer
it's call
I can't slip back between that
Bright sheet and that
Soft, dyed cloud
And I wish I could
Sleep, OUR haven of ideas,
Imagination's home
BED- a place to REST
I've no time to rest!
-a place to LOVE
Oh, how I wish you were here with me
NOW
Just so you could hold me in
you branches, protective and warm
your mop of brown hair tickling my neck
-a place to D R E A M
We can all do that
And sometimes I wish it had an off switch
So I wouldn't have to to think
About you, about me
And about that unforgiving US
that isn't there
I sigh
"damm you, morning"

Okay, next, this one's called Lust and it's a bit... odd. I wrote it whilst thinking of my object of desire. I was pretty hormonal too.

Lust
Inside me small
and twisted
BODY
I want you
I really want you
Lustful intentions
My very soul aflame for
You
yOu
yoU
All I want
Can't you hear my siren's song?
Can't you smell my passion,
My lust, my wanting
My happiness, when I'm with
YOU
It's is wrong?
My feelings for such
A fallen angel as you
Can lust ever be sinful
If it's for a creature
As beautiful, perfect
Angelic
As
you
Kiss me
Take me lustful sin
And purify my wretched
Twisted body
Nuture that spark of lust
Don't destroy it!
Don't smother that fire!
This is me, this is
My soul
My heat
My mind
My body
All laid out for
YOU!

This is a small rhyme I made up... it's rather insane

The witches pudding song
Meffle, weffle, pudding and pie,
Open the arms and kiss the sky,
Close your eyes and cross you heart....
You're gonna be in a witch's tart!

It's just my insane song... you don't have to like it. It's supposed to be sung by mad witches

Made up as I typed it, and it even rhymes.

I want to drown
I honestly do
I want to drown in the bath
Oh give me the knife
Give me the gun
Give me that chosen path
I can't go on
alone, in pain
I can't continue this play
I think I might
Reach for the rope
And kill myself today
I blew my chance
I lost my man
I won't get any more
Run that blade
Across my neck
Let blood pour to the floor
Leave no trace
Of the girl
The girl that used to be
I want to leave
I want to run
Why can't I just be free?
I don't want love
I don't want pain
These feelings in my head
I wish that I
Could isolate
And live alone instead
Out on my own
And all alone
No people save for me
The only
Living girl alive
The only one to see.
