Haha, go thru this ALLLL the time before go on stage for dance. Honestly, there's nothing you can really do because everyone is nervous. You can pactice a ton, and know there's nothing to be nervous about b/c you know your stuff and it'll all be fine! Also know that after your 1st few minutes on stage, you get used to it, and it's not so nerve-wrecking anymore! Then it's like "actually this isn't tht bad at all!" Then you don't want to leave the stage ! Hehe! Good Luck!

and many of the dances i perform are super hard to, and trust me, all i can think about is if i'm going to mess up or not. You can't do any better than your best. If you do skrew up, so what... life goes on! Hey, you're talking to someone who has forgotten choreography on stage before and improved, has fallen on stage before, has missed a que on stage before, had costume or prop mishaps... heck, i've done it all, and it's gonna happen at sometime or another. all you can do is go out there and do your best like i said before!!

Okay, take this from someone who was in the phantom of the opera. You'll be fine on stage.

I sing three/four part opera in a seven person choir. If I screw up I can't blame a faulty string or a snapped reed or whatever.
Revise your music as much as possible and when you practice imagine you are infront of the world's best audience, made up of all the people in the world that you want to know that you are great (favourite celebrities etc.) Don't speed through your music and if you go wrong, DON'T PANIC!!!!!! Just keep playing!
Don't imagine the crowd naked. This will give you nightmares and make you freeze up with shock (especially if you are performing in and old folks home)
What instrument do you play?

Tuba, that's good, not too much can go wrong with the actual instrument (no broken strings or split reeds).
Just make sure you've oiled the valves and put of lip balm.

Suck ice cubes. That's a great trick to cool and calm you down before concerts.

Hope it went great, Remember if you do more not to overpractice on the day, or it can mess up your mouth (won't begin to spell embourchure). Done loads of concerts now. They don't really bother me unless I'm doing solo's. Last Frech Horn solo I kind of messed up, but the singing ones I do are ok. I'm really laid back so am not nervous until near when I start. So I usually let myself get really nervous then, and by the time it starts it's going because you're used to it.
