Sun May 15, 2005 10:00 am RIGHT TO DIE--- For the Mentally ill |
|
Think about it, the Mentally ill, those who are UNDERSTANDABLY
likely to want to Die, and end their suffering,
They are Forced to Live against their will
Chronic Mental illness is often WORST than Terminal illness
the SAME, Right to Die must apply on a Global scale,
The Mentally ill should have the option of ending their lives, Peacefully in a Doctor's office, as opposed to them making numerous failed attempts
or having to Jump in front of Subway Trains or be splatered on the Pavement when jumping off Buildings
Deep down, you know I am Right..
Let the Mentally ill PEACEFULLY end their live

Sun May 15, 2005 10:02 am I say this Because |
|
Of my OCD illness, I should be granted the
Right to End my life, Peacefully inside a Doctor's Offiice
No one is fighting for MY RIGHT, or the rights of other people with Mental illness to End their Lives

I have a feeling this topic won't last long.
Anyway, just because people want to end there life doesn't really make them crazy.. I was this way, but I won't go trough it no matter what I say. Yeah, i've done some things, but still... there is still one thing; one person thats blocking my way. Friends and God. They are all I care about right now.
I'll still think about it, but that doesn't mean i'm going to do it. Maybe i'm sick... maybe i'm just afraid of the world, I don't know... I'm lost..

If they're mentally ill, I would say that they're incompetent to make such a descision reasonably, and therefore should not make that descision. Unless it was in WRITING before they were mentally ill, or until they are ruled competent to make the descision for themselves, they should not be able to do something so rash.

Controvercial topics should be in World news. That way, only responsible users may post in them. I'm moving this there now, thanks.

Some mentally ill people procuce some amazing works of literature and art... so maybe they should be allowed to live.
From a practical point of view that sometimes enters my mind when I am feeling harsh- they are a drain on resourses. Kill them.

^Very practical^
And a little harsh, but I understand what you mean. It still doesn't make me agree that was should kill them though.
The art and writting thing is something I do agree with. It's fascinating that some can have so much talent like that... but it's sad they have to live a life like that.
