Agreed but it is a LOT better than a lot of what the rumors portrayed it to be. At first I thought the entire plot line was going to say that ENT didn't happen, instead it was a holo recreation of what pasted away.. The crew wasn't holograms on some holonovel that I thought it would turn out as.

My 8.7 still stands.

"Thats it? "

I really didn't like the incorporation of Riker and Troi. It ruined the episode. It was okay, but nothing great in any way.

Ten years on Enterprise, and both Hoshi and Travis are still ensigns. They broke the Harry Kim record.

I was cussing after the episode ended. What the heck kind of series finale was that?!?!?! They crammed so much *nonsensical* crap into this episode. I'm deeply disappointed. The only thing I liked was the ending with the original Star Trek "intro."

Did anyone notice the word "man" in Archer's line, "to boldly go where no *man* has gone before"? The intro was changed to be less sexist in TNG by replacing "man" with "one."

Bahz...

yeah, I noticed that. It was disapointing. One hour episode for a finale. On top of that they skiped to 6 years in the future and show thire last mission together. i mean Ultimatly you know whats gonna happen with every crew, but they didnt do it like this. so I look at this as a differnt "Ultimatly you know whats gonna happen" should they ever do any more 'Cannon' (Movies, mini series, etc...) projects along that line

Seeing as how I never watched ENT very often, the ending was ok IMO. Thought there was entirely too much Riker and Troi, though. I did like how they used Picard's and Kirk's ships. Trip dying was saaaaaaaaaad.

The part with all the Enterprise ships were cool. It was nice to see them all be together still, but it was still sad. I dont think they shoulda done an ep 6 years later. and make it a holodeck program

We didn't even get to see the signing of the federation charter they ended the program right before the part I wanted to see. How crappy was that. And also the fact that Troi and Riker were nothing like they were in Season 7 of TNG (they didn't look the same and didn't sound the same, obviously they can't be because they have aged quite a lot since but it kind of ruined the episode).

It could have been a really good episode.

Was that actually Picard in ten forward facing the window chatting to fellow crew members. It looked like him judging by the hairline lol

In my opinion, this was far more than rushed. I thought the majority of this episode was pathetic and ridiculous. It didn't do the Enterprise crew justice and was mostly focused around the TNG and Riker, what's that about? Was he on Enterprise? No. One of the only parts of this episode I liked was the very end, when they showed the 3 main Enterprise's and had the 3 main captains saying the mission statement...that was the only high point for me of this episode.

^I agree. Enterprise deserved a better ending. Who really wanted to see an ending with Riker chopping vegetables?

PostSun May 15, 2005 11:39 am    Weak Episode

"These are the voyages..." is super weak. Used too many cliches. Makes me tired.

Rick Berman is too old school. The plots and camera work is kiddy. Fifteen years ago it would have been good. We need a new director.

B&B are so burnt out that they wrote a fanfic episode addition to "Pegasus" as a "valentine" for the fans.

A big raspberry to B&B. This sucker ranked among the worst of fanfic.

As far as I'm concerned, the only real, true, and honest thing in the entire episode was the scene of T'Pol packing up Trip's belongings, as she held his uniform to her face. I was a young widow; that is such a common gesture, it's almost cliche. It meant even more coming from her, given the Vulcans' enhanced sense of smell. Beautiful, understated, honest.

The rest of it was worthless.

Especially coming after "Terra Prime," where you have a couple, once at odds, who've come to trust and care about one another, sharing their profound grief over the loss of a child that they hadn't planned to bring into the world--a child that represented *everything* that Star Trek has been about since the very beginning back in the racially charged 60s.

Why not leave it there? With *hope* for the future.

No, instead we get a crew that's been stagnating for 6 years, a couple that didn't follow up on the hope, a senseless death...

And they don't even show us the speech that the whole hour has been leading up to. It's just "Computer, end program."

A rousing Bronx cheer to B&B. When they put the 4th season on DVD, I'd love for them to put TATV on a separate disc, so that I can ceremoniously smash it to bits. After almost 39 years of viewing Trek, this is the very first episode that I will pretend never happened.

"Appalling" is a most accurate description.

Yeah... Too much Riker and Troi. Someone probably thought this would be cool, but it ended up being pretty stupid. This is Enterprise's finale...NOT TNG.

The true gem of this series, "Twilight (3x08)," would have made a better finale. At least it makes sense and represents the series for what it is.

Let me list what doesn't make sense in the finale:

1) The Chef - Ok, new series characteristic in the finale? No thanks! The Chef has been referred to in the series before, but he wasn't known as the crew's confidant.

2) Enterprise Boarded! - Ah... two senior officers running around while aliens are on board without a weapon. Sure....

3) Trip's Heroic Sacrifice - Did the scene *NOT* look so grim that Trip had to make his greatest sacrifice? Trip has been in bad situations before, and if he were to make stupid rash decisions like he did in the finale, he would have been long dead. THIS WAS OUT OF CHARACTER.

4) VIP Seats - Three main characters joking/commenting about VIP Seats, difficulty telling two aliens apart, talking about what Archer will do next, strategizing how to boost one's career.... Hey! Your friend of 10 years just died. HELLO?

5) Last Line, Last Scene - Riker, "Computer, end program." As, Ricker and Troi walk out of the Enterprise-D holodeck. Which series are we watching here?

PATHETIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I agree, they looked for a dumb reason to kill him off. Why is it when somone leaves trek (in most cases) they are killed off? (yes yes i know its differnt)

I hated this episode. They all looked so war-weary and tired. I didn't like trips death eighter. so weird, like a circus act.

Enterprise should have ended like every other series in a positive note, all the crew members being alive and prosuing other careers.Putting the ending on a holodeck with riker and troi was lame,so was killing off trip and leaving t'pol as she has always been"alone".I thought that taking the last episode 6 years into the future was okay, but it just showed us all how much more coverage of history that could have been covered with 3 more seasons of enterprise, not just to the alliance pact that archer gave the speach about, but all the way to the signing of the federation. The ending was to short and to quick, but i liked it. 6/10

Trip's performance was totally out of character. Why the hell didn't they buy time until security arrived (and they certainly took their sweet time as well.) They have play-acted in front of aliens with weapons before, so that would be in-line to try it again and hope it worked... And what was with that line "You can all go to hell!" before he blew himself up like that? Trip didn't owe Shran and/or any serious debt or feel an obligation of the sort, so why be so rash?

My biggest irritant is we didn't actually see Trip "die" on-camera. We saw Tasha die, and it was sad. We saw Jadzia die, and it was sad. We have seen other characters die on-screen and those were sad too. But here, in the season finale, Trip dies, and it's not even on-camera?!?! We see Trip wink as he goes into the imaging chamber, then it skips off to Trip's quarters where T'Pol is packing up his stuff because he's dead.

This episodes blows. Bad writing always equals bad ratings in my books. B&B didn't give us a valentine, they gave us the finger. 0/10 in my books, and the only reason it's so high is because I can't give negative numbers.
