By Sci-Fi, do you mean a miniseries produced by the Sci-Fi Channel, or just any science fiction miniseries in general? (Seriously, someone posted a similar topic at another forum and this led to great confusion.)

My favourite all-time SF series, produced also by Sci-Fi, is Frank Herbert's Children of Dune. Based off the second and third novels in Herbert's saga of Dune, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune, it is a six-hour, three-part miniseries that is a brilliant adaptation of the novels. The music is simple astounding, and I cannot help but be drawn into the plot each time I watch it.

My second favourite SF series is Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars. I saw it during its Canadian Premiere on Good Friday, and it was awesome! Not only did it have good music and a compelling storyline, but the character that originally inhabited Farscape was there all the same, with lots of humour and wit.

Recently displaced in ranking by Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars is Battlestar Galactica. I liked the miniseries, but the series is better, I found the miniseries to lag at some points and my attention wandered a lot.

Lastly, I enjoy The 4400, although I found it a bit long and the storyline somewhat convoluted. Recommnended viewing in separate parts, not all six consecutively.

Anyways, I haven't seen any sci-fi miniseries, actually. When could I find a good one on?

Move to Canada.

Er . . . or, if you get the Sci-Fi channel, they should have one on eventually, since they produce about 90% of them. So here is what you do: get some food, some water, and your television. Tune into the Sci-Fi channel, and then stare at the TV until a miniseries comes on. Don't move at all for anything, or you might miss it!
