They have some good things too though.. Like Brittish humor and London.

England- I love the dump, it's a fantastic monument to pollution, flies and bad accents with all the added fun of awful public transport.

But it's home and I love it.

p.s everyone else drives on the wrong side of the road. We invented damm roads!

Roman, celt, viking, saxon and everything else that decided to breed in our mud hole.
In fact, Slough, where I live, means swamp in Anglo Saxon, apparently. We had roads before the Roman's came, they just straightened them out a little.
I think we have some of the best folk songs too...

All our folk songs are about sex, hunting, elves and booze.

Well . . . we Canadians have a nice unique history with the English (and UK in general).

I've never been to England, and I think I've only meant an English person once . . . several years ago. So all my experiences with England are second-hand.

I think it's cool how the British monarchy has slowly changed from the rulers of a large empire to the largest celebrity entertainment in Western Europe.

We recently decided to do that in Canada, only with our Parliament instead of the monarchy. It's been decided that the Parliament shall no longer do anything useful, their only purpose is to annoy and entertain us by constant posturing, corruption, and election-mongering.

The English accent is one of the coolest accents in the world.

cornish
west country (hobbit)
And many more...
You probably mean creepy English, like Jude Law. I call it creepy english because it's not quite snobby enough to be queen's english but it's not quite yuppie. It's how I speak. Well bred and all that but less upper class and more creepy.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I speak. I creeped out one of my Indian friends by going up behind her and saying "Isn't that smashing?" in a voice like a possessed doll.
It wouldn't have been as evil sounding if I wasn't English

As for people being almost rude, that's cos everyone's in a hurry and believe me, it's worse in Paris. My friend was in London in this huge traffic jam and this woman got out of her car and gave birth at the side of the road! Everyone else got out of their cars and helped her... but it's kinda rare for people to give birth on the streets in England.
The worst thing about London is the dog poo and gum on the pavement. That is so not nice.

The further north you go, the friendlier the people. We do have a lot of respect for personal space and personal privacy though, which some outsiders find strange (hugging is strictly for very close friends and family only!).

I live in the non-city England, a little ex-mining village in what used to be County Durham (is now Tyne and Wear). It is green countryside, nice woods and rolling hills, and fields with sheep, goats, geese and horses in (at least that's the one down the road

). Public transport is ok, not great, but I can get where I want normally. I have a mild scouse accent, but live in Geordieland... Sammie is learning to speak Geordie

its pretty shame I got refusal to get a visa to get in..I want to go over there and see if its really as nice as I have heared of it...next time hope the british embassy will give me such a chance to take a look...
