Why the hell did they have cloak!?

It was in the mirror Universe Founder. There's no reason why the can't have a cloak.

Deep Space Nine established that there is no cloak in the Mirror Universe.

It's a stolen suliban cloak, that doesn't even work very well. If you payed any attention to the episode, it didn't work well at all. The Tholians detected it quite quickly and easily. The humans probably couldn't figure it out, and gave up on it.

And I'd be glad to see a quote of the said "establishment" in DS9

Yeah and that was established as a mistake.

In both universes starfleet had gotten there hands on cloaking devices and even used them even during kirks era (tos episode showed the enterprise cloaking) until the signing of the treaty with the romulans stating no federation ship would be allowed to use a cloaking device in the alpha quadrant as a good gesture. Before that time it was clear starfleet was experiementing with these devices, so it shouldnt come as a suprise in either universe these were used like in "the emporers new cloak", i really liked this episode, its different and interesting.

the only thing that got me in the kirk era about the cloaking device on klingon ships and romulan ships was kirk acted like he didnt know what a cloaking device was, and they had been testing them for years.

I don't care if you don't buy it. That is the official explanation.

They also discovered the Mirror Universe in this episode. How nice. Wasn't it established in the TOS that they didn't know what the MU was?

Did you watch the entire ep? There is no one from the "normal" universe in it. Its entirely set in the mirror universe

There was a subspace hole tear in the fabric of space is what archer said to the crew after a diagnostic in the episode, and he explained that something about reality may have been altered.

But i dont remember ever seeing anything about this in the database before the TOS series. But i think it was still a very cool episode.

I really am beginning to think that the writers are not satisfied with the outcome of star treks earlier history, as its written down, and decided to add and change key areas in the outcome, despite what people think. The orginal storyline of the pre-federation age, is to volitile to put into much of a story without boring ppl to death.

I can see why they changed it around.

Uh yes I did. It is still conflicting, because even the MU side didn't know about another universe. Now they do.

Actually, all they know is that that ship is not from their universe. They don't know which universe, they don't know how to get there. The Tholians do, but was anything even mentioned about the tholians in anywhere other than Enterprise, and the one episode of TOS? Humans were in a war in the MU, and probably at one point caused some major problems with Tholians, causing them to lose records, therefore the MU humans never got it.

If your going to argue, put up something better than that. At least give me a challenge. To be honest, and I'm not trying to put you down, but it appears that you're pulling criticisms out of somewhere they shouldn't be kept.

Not that I saw this episode of Enterprise or know anything about the story, but it definitely was established in Deep Space Nine that cloaking technology does not exist in the Mirror Universe (although, as has already been mentioned, a ship was seen decloaking in the first DS9 Mirror Universe episode, but it was later classified as an error).

Click here and you'll see that the plotline of the DS9 episode "The Emperor's New Cloak" relies on the fact that there are no cloaks in the Mirror Universe.

Well actually as you are saying that now in the enterprise time persion the MU now knows about the NU then that is an error.

In the episode "Crossover" whoch was the first mirror univers episode of DS9 in season 2 you see that the MU kira mentions that kirk was the person that first made the crossover and that it was with the NU kirk that they realised that there was another universe which was the oposite to theirs.

Exactly! Thank you C1988. It was established history. I can't believe they are STILL making these mistakes.

True true it is very possible. Especially with the way that universe went the NU has such an impact on it. With the Terrans dismantling all of their defensies leaving them open to attack and all.

They have not found out that it's a universe opposite to theirs yet, all they know is that it's another universe. We know know, that there is a high likeliness of parallel universes, what's to say, when we start exploring space more deeply, that we don't find one ourselves? They probably have discovered other universes already, but does that means the ones they had discovered before that were mirror universes? NO! The fact is, that they don't know that it's OUR Star Trek universe...they just know that it's another universe, with remarkable similarities, they might not even make the connection with Kirk when it happens! There scientific abilities have proven to be limited....even MU Trip seems to be less capable.

But, Lt. Hood is right, there is still a part two, and it could change a lot of things. And you aren't a fan of Star Trek: Enterprise if you don't like it.....you may be a fan of the other series, but not Enterprise, so the reason why the show is being axed isn't because of the fans, it's due to poor advertisements, and some poor decisions made by UPN executives. The fans of Star Trek: Enterprise are trying to help.
